Like I Do - Camren

Chapter 4

Lauren's POV
I woke up to the sun hitting my face. I looked around and realized I was in Camila's bed. I also noticed that Normani and Ally were sitting on the couch, talking. Mani looked exhausted and Ally looked worried and sad. "We have to go then!" Ally exclaimed. I looked around and didn't see Dinah or Camila. The bathroom door was wide open, so they weren't there. "Morning guys. Where are Camz and Dinah?" I asked. Mani flinched and turned to face me. "Morning, Lo." She smiled sadly. She stood up and walked over to me. "Where are the girls?" I asked, getting worried after seeing the look in the girls' eyes. "Um.... Camila was rushed to the hospital at 1 this morning." Mani spoke. I jumped up. "What? What's wrong? What happened?" I asked, getting extremely worried. "She just... Uh..... Got hurt." Mani said. I knew she was hiding something, but Ally also looked confused. "She won't tell me what happened either." Ally walked over to me. "I gotta go see her!" I exclaimed. "No, no. She's fine. Dinah just texted me, she's on her way for rehearsals. We'll meet her there." Mani said. I couldn't hold back the tears that started streaming. They pulled me into a group hug to comfort me but I just couldn't feel comfort when I knew Camz wasn't ok.

We walked into the rehearsal room and Dinah was sitting there, looking exhausted. "Hey guys." She smiled sadly at me. These girls knew I had a thing for Camila, and I'm guessing they knew how I would take the news. "Dinah, how's Camila doing?" I quickly asked. "Um... Better." She nodded. "What happened?" I asked. She looked to Mani and sighed. "Nothing. Let's not worry about it. We have rehearsals. Just know that she is fine and alive." Dinah reassured. She's alive? What's that supposed to mean? I thought. "Sorry, wrong choice of words. Don't worry, it wasn't that serious." She said, as if reading my mind. Her eyes said she was lying. "Dinah..... tell me what happened to Camila....." I spoke with caution. "We don't have to worry right now. She's fine. Let's just get these rehearsals over with." She spoke.

Rehearsals finally ended and we headed back to the hotel. "Guys, can we go see Camila now?" I asked hopefully. "Lo, you know what I said. She can't have visitors." Dinah said. "Why can't you tell me what happened?" I whined. "Because she doesn't want you to know." Dinah states blandly. "What? Ok, that's insane. I'm gonna call her." I say as I pull my phone out and follow Dinah, Mani, and Ally into Dinah's room.

Dinah has a look of shock and surprise on her face, which causes me to look into the direction she is looking in. I see Camila standing there with a shy smile. I was about to run and give her a hug, but Dinah stuck her arm out to stop me. "Camila, what the fuck are you doing here?" She asked. I was a bit taken back by this. "What? No hello?" Camila asks with a chuckle. "Chanch, a word. Now." Dinah said through gritted teeth. They left to the hall leaving two of us confused and concerned and one of us, Normani, worried. "Ok, can someone explain what's going on?" I looked to the girls, mainly Mani. She just mumbled that it wasn't her place and to ask Camila.

After 30 minutes of waiting, the girls finally entered the room. Camila had been crying and it looks like Dinah may have been too. I jumped up from my spot on the bed and wrapped Camila in my arms. "Hey, are you doing ok?" I asked her. She nodded in my neck. "Did they tell you what..... um- why I was there?" She asked, pulling away to look at me. I shook my head and she sighed of relief. "Good." She snuggles back into my neck. "No, it's not good. I was so worried, and no one would tell me what happened. I couldn't even focus on rehearsals." I say, trying to remain calm. "Sorry, Lolo." She said quietly. Hearing her in so much pain made me drop it. "It's fine. At least you're ok." I say, and she starts wriggling in my grip. I look to Dinah and she just looks away. They knew something I didn't. I let go of Camila and tried to look into her eyes. She avoided my gaze until she finally gave in. I stared deep into her eyes and I could tell she was nervous and uncomfortable. I saw, in her eyes, pain. I brought her to me and kissed her forehead. "Please, don't keep whatever is going on from me. I don't expect you to tell me now, but eventually." I sigh, letting go of her. She just nods at my words.

I head into the bathroom while the girls  were watching a show. I go to wash my hands and notice a little white dot behind the faucet. I pull it out and it's a small white pill. I didn't think anything of it and set it back in case one of the girls lost whatever it was.

"I'm gonna go take a nap guys. Come get me if anything else happens. Also, I think one of you dropped some sort of medicine by the faucet." I say. Camila, Normani, and Dinah's eyes go wide. "Right, um, I'll go take care of that. " Mani quickly jumps up and into the bathroom. Thinking nothing of it, I leave the hotel room and head into mine. I lock the door and fall onto my bed. I felt exhausted, and even though I was still very much worried about Camz I still wanted to sleep.

I finally fell asleep. I wasn't sure how long I slept until I heard screaming. But not just any screaming....
