Ch.34: Making of a Trip

My parents were out for dinner for the first time in a while. It was nice to be able to hang out and watch my parents laughing and not arguing. I still was upset over what Arthur did to me but I wasn't going to stress over it in the slightest bit at all. My parents got a call and they answered it immediately and that's when my dad put cash down on the bill and urged me to get into the car. i was confused and I just looked at my parents. "Levi is in the hospital and it's pretty bad" dad told me just as we parked in the parking lot and we rushed to the hospital waiting room and that's when I saw Lilith eyes were puffy and red. I rushed to hug her tight and she sobbed into my shoulder and I rubbed her back tight. I saw my dad hugged Uncle Harry. "Thanks Louis for coming" I heard him say. "Of course, I will always be there for you" Dad told my Uncle Harry and my father was hugging Aunt Cora in a tight knit. I lead me and Lilith to sit down and I held her hands. "What's going on" I asked her and she just sniffled in. "They had to do emergency surgery. He was at a party but there was alcohol and now my brother is in that room suffering. Grace he won't be able to walk if he survives" Lilith ranted to me and I sighed while shaking my head. I opened my mouth and that's when I heard Albany join in. "Not if, he will make it because he's a fighter Lilith" Albany patted her shoulder and Lilith shrugged her shoulders while biting her lip. A part of me feel so bad for her and her family. I just couldn't help but think why does bad things happen to us. Uncle Liam was holding onto Uncle Harry tight and Uncle Harry had tears in his eyes. I just couldn't breath anymore because this was Levi. It felt like hours and it was. We had been sitting here for the passed four hours. No one was saying anything because what could you say in a hospital room. I heard footsteps and someone in a lab coat. Uncle Harry woke up Aunt Cora and we all stood in front of the doctor to hear the news  but I knew it wasn't good news in the slightest bit. "We did everything we could to save your son but the damage was too much. His spinal was broken and he had damaged his heart and his organs. He stopped breathing but we didn't stop doing compressions until now to realize that Levi is gone" The doctor grabbed Uncle Harry's shoulder and that's when I heard him screaming and shouting and crying his eyes out. I was shocked to see Uncle Harry so vulnerable and I looked back at everyone. Albany was shaking her head, Chris had tears down his cheeks and Lilith was sobbing into Albany's chest. Aunt Cora was wrapped up in Uncle Liam's shoulder. I slipped passed them and I walked into a room and I saw the sheet and the person I considered my cousin's foot with his name and the time of death. I removed the sheet and I saw the damage that my cousin went through. His face was covered with bruises, dried blood and I just grabbed his cold hand into mine. "I am so sorry Levi" I felt my eyes go went. "You didn't deserve to die in the slightest bit" I said to Levi acting like he could hear me but he couldn't and I knew it. I heard the door open and there stood Uncle Harry giving me a sad smile. I just bit my lip while shaking my head. He looked so cold so I pulled the sheet up a bit while I fiddled with my wrist. "Uncle Harry" I said to him while trying to not break down and Uncle Harry just stood next to me in front of his dead son. We didn't say anything. "Your parents was worried about where you went" Uncle Harry informed me while he went to remove the watch that his son once had on. "I just had to see him to believe he was really gone" I turned to Uncle Harry and he nodded with a solemn look on his face, his eyes were red and puffy. "That was or is one of my fear is my children dying before me" Uncle Harry rubbed his face. "I am so sorry" I told him and Uncle Harry wrapped his long arms around me and I just let my tears soak into his shirt and I let him do the same to me. "I think maybe it's time we leave this place" Uncle Harry said while pushing Levi's hair back along with kissing his forehead. "I love you" I heard Uncle Harry whispered to Levi while rubbing Levi's hand. "Can I say goodbye to him" I asked Uncle Harry. "Bye Levi Styles, you were one of a kind and you will be missed" I told him while holding his hand. I walked out of the corner room with Uncle Harry's arm wrapped around my shoulders. I walked back to the group and I urged Lilith to see her brother in which she did. I just stared forehead. "I don't know how to act I never dealt with death before" I turned towards Albany and she grabbed my hands. "People grieve in different ways and you are already doing everything right. Some people get angry, some have denial for weeks and some just accept it" Albany informed me while patting my shoulders and got up from her seat and that's when I saw her and Uncle Liam saying goodbye to Aunt Cora and Uncle Harry. Dad and father sat down next to me and kissed my forehead. "Everything is going to be okay" Dad told me and I just nodded. "Let's go home" Father said and I just agreed. I wanted this to be a nightmare that I could wake from but I knew it wasn't the case anymore.
