"Take a break, John," Peggy says, massaging my shoulders gently from behind. "You've been working for hours.""I know," I sigh, rubbing my temple, "But my essay is due in a week."
"You've been working your ass off. You haven't even eaten lunch and it's almost time for dinner," Peggy points out, taking a seat next to me on the couch that we had stole from Eliza to put into our dorm. She snuggled up next to me, her head resting on my shoulder.
"Just let me write one more page, baby?" I sweetly smile as I quickly kiss her on the head.
"You said that four pages ago," She pouts. She shuts my laptop. "I hope you were writing that on Google Docs and not Word, or else it won't save."
"I've made that mistake in the past," I giggle and put my computer to the side. I grab Peggy by her hips and swing her onto my lap. She laughs as I kiss her sweetly for a moment. It wasn't a passionate and heated kiss, it was a quick loving kiss.
"I'll make dinner tonight?"
"Please. You almost burnt the house down last time," She says, rising from my grasp and walking into our moderately sized kitchen. "Besides, I've already planned dinner tonight. I've invited Lafayette, Hercules, my sisters, and the new kid, Alex."
"Alex?" I ponder, never hearing his name before.
"Yeah. He's already pretty good friends with Lafayette. Well, I mean, everyone is friends with Lafayette except Jefferson. You can't not love the man."
"That's true. When did Alex enroll?"
"A couple weeks ago. Came from the Caribbean or something."
"How exotic," I joked, "Well, if we're inviting them all over, I need to go take a shower."
"Yeah, you smell like dog shit," She says, popping some chicken into the oven.
"I love you, too."

Just my luck, I left my clothes in my room before stepping into the shower. Fuck. I checked the time on my phone. 5:30. Nobody should be here by now, so I should be fine with exiting the bathroom with only a towel.
I swung the door open and looked into the kitchen and dining room. Peggy was setting up plates. She looked at me in shock.
"What? This isn't the first time you've seen me half naked." She stares at me with wide gaping eyes and I turn around. Behind me stood a short man with black hair slicked back into loose pony tail. He had dark chocolate eyes.
"Oh, my god," I gasped and quickly attempt to run past him. I accidentally bump into him on my way out and the towel slips off of my waist and onto the floor. I turn a mad red.
"Holy fuck!" I shriek, grabbing my towel. "I'm so sorry," I say and quickly run into my room and shut the door. I leaned against the door, panting heavily. I was shaking nervously. I rub my eyes.
"Shit," I whisper out of humiliation. In amidst of the silence I have created on both sides of the door, I hold back tears. He was probably the new kid. I just made an absolute fool of myself. So much for first impressions.
The silence is soon broken by Lafayette and Hercules strolling into the dorm. I quickly throw on a pair of black jeans and a grey tee shirt. I brush my mane of hair and step outside.
"Hi, guys," I greet the two.
"My boy, Laurens!" Hercules smiles, pulling me in a tight but quick hug.
"Have you met Hamilton, mon cherie?" Lafayette asks, looking over at Hamilton who was slightly blushing.
"We've already met just a few moments ago."
"Uh, yeah..." I mutter, scratching my neck, "Sorry about that."
"It was just a mistake. No worries. Alexander Hamilton," He introduces himself, holding his hand out. I briefly shake it.
"John Laurens." I linger from the hand shake a moment too long.
"I'm Margarita Schuyler," Peggy introduces, setting a giant platter of chicken and potatoes down on the dining table. "But you can call me Peggy."
"Wow! Peggy! It looks delicious," Lafayette says, having a seat.
"Don't dig in just yet. Angelica and Eliza haven't arrived yet."
We all have a seat, and just a few minutes later, Angelica and Eliza comes in.
"Hey, guys!" Angelica smiles, taking off her coat and putting it on the couch. Eliza does the same.
"Damn, Peggy. It smells good in here!" Eliza says, having a seat at the table next to me on my left. Alexander sits to my right. Peggy begins to pass the plate around.
"So, Alexander," Angelica says through a mouthful of potatoes, "You new here?"
"Yeah, I just came here a couple weeks ago," He answers, cutting into his chicken.
"What do you major in?" Lafayette asks.
"Law," He answers, "It's not as exciting as I thought it would be."
"That's what I thought about animal biology," I add on.
"You only study it because you love turtles," Mulligan points out, heartily laughing.
"So, Alexander, where's your dorm?" Eliza asks, smiling.
"Uh," He hesitates, "I don't have a dorm."
"What?" Lafayette stutters, "Where do you stay?"
"Uh, I have some money left from when I came from the Caribbean. I hop from hotel to hotel. I haven't really found a roommate yet," He explains.
"Well, you're welcome to stay with us!" Peggy suggests, and I glance at her, "Just until you find a permanent place to stay."
I'm already growing to like this Alexander, but there's still some embarrassment that lingers inside of me. I mean... he saw my... junk, for crying out loud! I am so very grateful that he's already starting to put the mishap behind us; it really shows that he's the forgiving type.
"Would you really do that for me?" Alexander gasps, hope glistening in his deep dark eyes.
"Of course!" Peggy grins, "You can stay in our guest room, if that's fine with John." She looks over at me for approval.
"That'd be great," I smile, looking over at Alexander. He looks away, slightly blushing once again. I feel my own face as well grow warm.
"If you don't mind me," Peggy says, rising from the table, "I'm going to go get desert ready."
