Phew! Lunch!!!! Yay!!! I mentally screamed. Hey, I can't help the fact that I am a really big fan of food! After all the costume talk with Michelle and giggling with my lovely friends, I needed to fuel up my energy level to survive the rest of the day at Ridgewood High.
Hayley grabbed my hand "Hellloooo? Back to earth Belle!"
I snapped out of my thoughts and gave Hayley a sheepish grin. "Sorry 'bout it, buddy!"
Hayley bumped her hip with mine and flicked her auburn hair to my face.
"Ouch!" I yelled as her hair slapped my face. It was really painful. I rubbed my cheeks and glared at Hayley who stuck her tongue out.
"Anna is not gonna be happy if we are late, so let's get going!" Hayley grinned at me.
"Now remind me again why am I ever friends with you?" I said glaring at Hayley.
"'Cuz you love me buddy!" Hayley replied in a sing song voice.
We had now reached the cafeteria. I spotted the speck of strawberry blonde hair near the corner of the cafeteria.
"Hayley, there she is." I nudged at Hayley.
Both of us walked up to Anna.
"Hello!" We chorused.
"Hiya guys! Today is mac 'n' cheese day, so grab your plates and let's go!" Anna told excitedly.
Hayley and I didn't need to be told twice, we grabbed our plates and walked to where they were serving the food.
"Um, where is Frannie?" Hayley questioned.
"She's having dance practices with Bitchy Roxy." Anna smirked.
"Uhm, excuse me?" We heard a cold voice behind us.
We turned around and my eyes were wide. There stood Bitchy Roxy or Roxanne Harris, the Ridgewood High Dance Team Captain...I glanced at Anna who was white with fear. Roxy had the most menacing look on her face. Her fake eyelashes and heavily lined eyes looked really scary now.
Oops! Hope Bitchy Roxy didn't hear it!
Hayley too looked shock but she was trying to keep her giggles at bay. It was humorous to see Anna looking so darn scared with Roxy almost looking like she was breathing fire.
"What did you say?" Asked Roxy as she inched closer to Anna.
"I-I-I, uhmm, I- err, nothing, err." Anna stammered.
I felt like face palming myself. Gosh, Anna really didn't know how to control her fears. If Bitchy Roxy hadn't sensed anything earlier, she probably would have now.
Bitchy Roxy inched closer until her face was just centimetres apart from Anna's. Her look was getting more eviller. Hayley and I were rooted with fear and amusement. As I thought Roxy might slap Anna, she did the most unbelievable thing ever. Bitchy Roxy laughed! Yes, she laughed!
"Oh my gosh!" Roxy said clutching her stomach as she kept on laughing.
Hayley, Anna and I looked at each other confusedly. What the hell? One minute she was glaring daggers at Anna and the next she is howling with laughter. I swear that girl was bi-polar.
Roxy wiped the tears leaking out of her eyes. "I can't believe you fell for that! Your face was priceless! Oh my gosh, you should have seen it!"
And she burst into fits of laughter again. The attention of the whole cafeteria was on us. I, being the person who never basked in spotlight, instinctively hid behind Hayley who furrowed her eyebrows at Roxy.
