I walked towards the park and I found Adrian waiting for me. I ran towards him.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting." I muttered breathlessly.
"Oh, it's no problem." Adrian smiled. "So, shall we go to your house?"
I looked up at him. My house? He wanted to come to my house?
"Uhm, do you want to come to my house?" I asked him, confusedly.
Adrian tensed up. "Well, if you don't want me to, it's-"
"No no, I didn't mean like that. I was just surprised." I said, interrupting him.
I saw Adrian visibly relax and chuckle. Why the heck was he chuckling? I reflected on what I said and realized there was nothing funny in my words.
Adrian saw the questioning look on my face and asked "Why are you looking like that?"
"Well, I wouldn't be having this look on my face if a certain someone didn't chuckle out of the blue." I replied humourlessly.
"Oh, about that." Adrian began as he tried hard to keep a straight face. "Well, you told me that you were surprised as to why I wanted to come to your house. Well, little Belle, how can we chose a song to start practicing tomorrow if we didn't decide it today? Plus, isn't it better deciding it at your house? Because I'm sure Mr. and Mrs. Johnson wouldn't be happy to send you to the house of a boy, whom they barely know."
Oh well, he had a point! Stupid ol' Belle! Didn't you ever think of THAT?
"Oh..." I trailed off, embarrassed. I was at a loss of words. I had completely forgotten about choosing the song. "Well, sorry about that. I got some serious memory problems." I said sheepishly.
Adrian just chuckled and we continued walking in silence, whilst Adrian fumbled with the playlist on his phone.
I looked over his shoulder curiously. There were some songs in his playlist which I didn't recognize. Well, I never did listen to music that much and whatever songs I listened to were mostly from Disney movies and singers. Plus, most of the songs I listened to were at least 2 years old. I don't usually listen to the new ones. I wasn't much of a music fan, just an ardent bookworm.
"Well, what about 'We are the World'?" asked Adrian.
I shook my head. That song was too common. "Nah, it's too common."
Adrian rolled his eyes at me. "You are a strange one."
I rolled my eyes in reply. "Whatever."
After sometime, Adrian looked up at me again. "What about 'Is this the world we created' by Queen'?"
"Can I hear it?" I asked him.
He let the song play and I listened. It was a good song but was slow.
"Nah." I shook my head.
Adrian sighed and stopped fumbling with his phone. "Let's go to your house and figure out. I don't want us arguing in the middle of the road."
After about five minutes, we were home. I rang the doorbell anxiously. I didn't know about Ria's or Carlo's reactions to boys. I had never ever brought a boy home. I didn't know what to expect because of that. Adrian noticed my nervousness and anxiousness.
He squeezed my hand. "Don't worry, I hope they won't be too hard on you because I decided to drop in."
I gave him a weak smile. "I don't think so."
Just then, the door opened. Ria's cheerful face suddenly morphed into one with shock. I gulped nervously.
"Uh, hi Ria. This is my friend Adrian and he decided to come because we've got some work to do and err...uh-" my nonsensical blabbering was cut by Ria.
