Tris POV:
Ashton is asleep on the couch. I put a blanket over him and walk upstairs to my bedroom. I take a quick shower. I put on my fuzzy zebra stripped pajama pants and a black tank top. I put my hair in a messy bun.
I walk over to my window and see something I wish I hadn't.
Tears fall down my face. I hear a knock on my window.
My whole body feels numb. I hear footsteps. Ashton sticks his head through the door.
"Hey I was just about...Hey Tris what's wrong?" He asks pulling me into a hug.
"He lied. Turns out the Dauntless Cake thing was bullshit." I say laughing a little.
He lean on his chest.
"Tris, I think I'm in love with you." Ashton blurts out.
I turn my head to look at him. He kisses me, then pulls back.
"I'm sorry. That was inappropriate." He says.
I don't answer because I am shocked.
"Aren't you gonna say anything?" He asks hurt.
"I don't know what to say."
"I'll leave."
"No Ash. Wait."
"Bye Tris."
He walks out.
