Chapter Eleven: The Last Day

Pippa's POV:

Tonight is the last show that Lin and I are going to perform in. Everyone else is renewing their contracts, it is probably for the best that Lin and I leave the show. Right after tonight's performance I have a flight straight to LA to work on my new show Amelié.

I'm still staying at Lin's until I leave for LA to help with Sebastian. After all that is the main reason I moved in. Things have settled down between Lin and I, or maybe it's just Lin has been more to him self since the night in the park. Sebastian has really grown up since I first moved in, he has always been a smart kid, now he is starting to count and he knows all of his letters. I'm really going to miss Sebby while I'm away.

As I walk out of my room I'm hit with the smell of pancakes cooking. I enter the kitchen and see Lin and Sebby making some, and a huge mess around them. "Me and Daddy are making pancakes for your special day. When are you coming back home Mommy Pippa?" Sebby holds up a lopsided pancake proudly.

"Aww, thank you guys!" I look over at Lin hesitant to answer Sebby's question. I don't know where Lin and I will be in a few months. Lin gives me nothing, no eye contact no facial expressions, it's like he never heard the question. "You didn't answer me! When are you coming back?"

I don't know what to say, and Lin certainly isn't helping me so I tell him the truth.

"I should come back to New York in a few months, but I don't know if I'm coming back here." This catches Lin's attention.

"What does that mean?" Sebby gets down from his stool and walks over to me.

"It just means I don't know if I'm still going to live here when I come back." Lin now has his full attention on the conversation. "Why?"

"I don't know Sebby." His eyes start to fill with tears and he mumbles something I can't understand. "Sebby what's wrong?"

"Are you not coming back because you don't love us anymore." I can't believe that this is what Sebastian thinks is going on. I don't know who to explain everything that is happening to a three year old. "Of course I'll still love you Sebby!" I pull him in for a tight hug and kiss the top of his head. This whole time I never thought about how Sebastian is taking all of this.

"How about we all go on a special picnic before I Leave tonight?" Sebby nods his head yes and walks back to the kitchen to continue making pancakes.

Before the picnic I have to stop by the theatre to sign a few papers. On my way there my phone starts getting blown up with text from Lin.

Lin: Why would you say that to Sebby

Now he is very confused

He thinks you are never coming back because you dont love him anymore

Why would you tell him that you aren't coming back

Pippa: It's not like you helped the situation. You just sat there letting me answer all the questions. Since you weren't helping I answered his questions myself.

Lin: But he is three Phillipa he doesn't understand what's going on

Pippa: I don't know what's going on and I'm 26

Lin: Maybe we should skip the picnic

Pippa: And show Sebby I really don't care about him but not showing up?

Lin: I just don't want to do it

Pippa: Then can you drop him off at the theatre so we can hang out before the show? I don't want him to think I left him because I don't care. I'm leaving because I care.

Lin: Was that last part for me or Sebby?

Pippa: Shut up and bring me Sebastian

After I signed all the papers Lin showed up with Sebby. "Mommy Pippa!" He yelled running into my dressing room. "Hey Sebby! I go on a picnic today so I thought we could hang out here is that okay?"

"It's okay Mommy Pippa. What are we going to do?" I grab Sebby's hand and pull him to the hallway.

"I thought I could give you a tour of all the cool stuff here." I proceed taking him all around the theatre. I show him the costume room, the prop closet, stop by everyone's dressing room and take him on stage.

"This is what you do everyday?" Sebby looks out into the audience, I can see the amazement in his eyes. "Pretty much!"

After running about the whole stage acting put his imagination Sebby runs over to me and give me a big hug. "Mommy Pippa, I'm going to me like you when I grow up."

Now I feel even more guilty for leaving, but Lin is leaving too, if I stay I won't change anything.

"I can't wait to see you on stage Sebby!"

Lin comes back to the theater a hour before the show starts to take Sebby to daycare. We have an emotional goodbye, at least I do, before he leaves. It will be a few months the next time I see that kid again. Tears start forming in my eye as Renee and Jazzy walk in.

"Pippa are you okay? You haven't been telling us what's going on anymore. You can tell us anything." Jazzy runs over to me and hugs me.

"The main reason I took the role in LA was to get away from all the drama between Lin and I. But I'm starting to regret it." Tears that I have been holding in for weeks start spilling down my face.

Renee joins the hug and tries to soothe me. "Pippa you can change your mind and stay. If you want Lin-" "But I don't know what I want. He is going on vacation anyways so he won't be here if I stay. Everything thing has been off between us ever since told me he loves me."

Renee and Jazzy stop hugging me and stand up straight. "He loves you? When did this happen?" They ask almost in unison. "Around the time we starts sleeping together." I try to stay quiet about it but Renee and Jazzy squeal with excitement. "When did you start sleeping with the star of the show? So you guys were like a couple? Just out of curiosity, is Lin good is bed?" "Jazzy!" Renee playfully hits Jazzy, "But really Pippa is he?"

I tell the girls everything while we get ready for the show. We get interrupted by Lin knocking on the door. "Hey, places!" He runs out of the room quickly.

"What is he talking about, they didn't sat it over the intercom ye-" Jazzy is cut of by the intercom calling places.

The show tonight is amazing. Everyone is putting in everything they got. Helpless is a little awkward when Lin and I kiss, but it has been like that for the past few months. Burn, the stay alive reprise and who lives who dies who tells your story were a lot more emotional tonight.

There is a goodbye party for Lin and I tonight buy I can only drop by for a few minutes before catching my flight to LA. Before I leave Lin pulls me aside.

"I know that things have been weird between us for the past few months, but I'm really going to miss you. I understand why you took the role in LA, I just wish that things worked out differently between us." Lin leans in to kiss me, I don't stop it until I hear someone yelling.

"Get you hands off my girl Miranda!"

I look down at my watch, seeing I have to go. "Daveed, I have to go, I'm sorry. I'll call you when I land. I love you." I give Daveed a quick kiss and try to leave but Daveed's strong grip pulls me back to him. "You are moving all the way across the country and that's how you are going to say bye?" He then pulls me into a passionate kiss. "I love you, don't forget to call." I leave the party blushing.

Hopefully Daveed doesn't try to kill Lin while I'm away, or the other way around. Hopefully Lin doesn't tell Daveed what has been going on.

I know this chapter is kinda boring but I didn't want to just skip from the last chapter to Lin and Pippa being gone. The last half of the chapter is kinda sloppy because I got tired of writing this chapter sorry.
