Chapter Thirty-Two: New friends?

ZIA'S POV

I woke up in the infirmary, I still feel light headed. My head hurts, maybe because of the impact of hitting my head hard at the concrete when I lost consciousness.

I looked around saw Loriel sleeping beside me holding my hand. She may be asleep, but she had a firm grip on my hand. It's as if I would gone away if she let go of it. A smiled made it's way to my lips. I knew I can count on her.

She stirred in her sleep, but immediately realized that I'm already awake.

"Zia! Are you okay?!" Panic evident in her voice as she spoke.

"Ne~ Gwenchana." I assured her. Not wanting to worry her more.

"Why did you faint then?! I called your name a couple of times, but ut seemed like you haven't heard any of it. I got worried when you got pale, then suddenly you fainted." She checked my body if something hurt on my body, but I held her hand gently.

"I'm fine. I guess I just had another episode of my past sickness. But you, didn't have to worry much. Maybe I'm just hallucinating over things." I shrugged.

"Episode?! Yah! You need to be careful! We didn't want you experience the same thing again! That would be horrible!" I chuckled at her reaction.

"I know~ Maybe it's one-time thing. Don't worry much about it." I waved her off.

"Aish this hoe acting tough! Cut the shit! You can act weak with me you know." She rolled her eyes playfully.

We both laughed at our silly bantering. Just earlier we talked seriously, but look at us now. We are laughing like a bunch of idiots. This is what I liked about her. She can changed the situation in a snap. This girl is contagious.

"Wait. Hallucinating? What the fuck are you seeing then?!" She looked so shooked, I laughed harder at her comment.

Our funny moment got interrupted by the door being opened harshly. In came along, the girl I feared seeing. I grew stiff in my place as she approached the bed.

"Zia! I was so worried! Are you okay??? You hit your head hard! Does it hurt?" She tried touching me, but I flinched and scooted away. Surprisingly she looked hurt by my reaction.

"Hold up new girl." Loriel interrupted and get in between me and Jennie, causing the other to back up a fee steps.

"I don't know what's with you and Zia, I can't help but think that your lying about the both of you being bestfriends. Just earlier she flinched even without you literally touching her. That doesn't make any sense." She seethed. I was surprised she caught on just by observing.

I saw how shook Jennie was but immediately frowned and acted like she was about to cry. What. The. Fuck.

"It's tr-true! We're bestfriends before!" She replied and sniffed. Is she freakin' crying?!

"Why would I believe you? I didn't know shit about you." Loriel sassed.

"You're right. You don't know me, so don't judge me like you know me too well." Jennie barked back, but wiped her tears after speaking. Loriel stayed quiet though, as if she is testing the waters.

"Why don't you ask Zia? I'm telling you the truth." She added.

"Why would Zia lie-"

"It's true." I sighed.
