Hello my dears, thank you so so much for the warm reception, nagrank tayo agad at #352! This is a first for me, thank you so much. Hope you stick around till the end :)
Anyway, you've met our ficAlden and ficMaine, let's now have them meet each other. Have you ever experienced getting curious about a person only to have stories about them precede your actual meeting them? Do you get influenced by the stories told about them? How much of these stories do you later find out to be true?
I've had my share of people admitting to me that their initial judgement of my is wrong. I've always been told I look unapproachable since I don't smile too much at people I don't know. It surprises them that I'm actually shy, because the first impression I give off is that I'm suplada or snobbish.
It's really difficult to restrain ourselves from making judgements on people we meet for the first time, but my advice: don't let that judgement ruin a possible good friendship. Always keep an open mind and give the person an opportunity to get to know you better, regardless of your initial misgivings.
Read on and see what first impressions both Alden and Maine had, when they first saw each other. Let me know what you think ok? Thank you for the usual suspects commenting, so happy to see you here again :)
It was still early in the morning and Maine was in the mood for a Starbucks breakfast. A week into her new assignment and she was pleased to note that it was a better job, not as hectic as working for the mall but more challenging. There were eight different housing projects she had to create marketing programs for, and after her one-week orientation, she was finally getting a chance to meet the whole management committee later.
Today she dressed corporate, following her friend Liv's advice to be a little more conformist with her outfits. She wore a sleeveless blue lace dress that was below the knee length but with a lace panel that showed off her toned thighs.
It was a good compromise between her usual style and conforming with corporate dressing. She hoped to make a good impression on the management committee, most of whom she will get to work with in the weeks to come.
Since it was still early, she had time to have a quick breakfast with Liv at Starbucks. They met there and got Turkey Ham sandwiches and coffee, chatting about their jobs and the people they both know. Ina little while, Liv excused herself to go to the restroom, leaving Maine to look around the café idly. And that was when she saw him first.
He was standing in line at the counter, his back turned to her, waiting for his turn. He was tall, his long legs fitting snugly into his slimfit jeans, the outline of his well-shaped butt a nice compliment to his well-toned physique, at least from her view. He had a cap on backwards with the letters DEI on it, her second name. Strange coincidence to see her name on his cap.
