Good morning my dear readers, it's a beautiful day and I thought it was perfect for a wedding. So I'm giving you a special wedding to brighten up this day, because in my head, ficMaine and ficAlden cannot wait to be together and share their lives as one.
I hope you will like this chapter, and see into their future as a couple. Their lives will be filled with affection, humor and love, lots of it. They will be defying odds together, slaying challenges without mercy, because they know that with God at the center of their relationship, there is nothing to fear. That life will be full of grace and blessings.
I hope, at the risk of sounding preachy, you take this time to remember the Lord. Maybe for those who can't set aside time to worship or attend mass, to set aside a few minutes of your time and just say a prayer, or talk to Him like would with a friend.
God bless all of you my dears, a pleasant and fulfilling day ahead :)
The day was bright and sunny, but everyone was abuzz with excitement. It was their wedding day, and although very difficult to pull off, they finally got their dream wedding: they were holding it on top of Faber Peak, with their closest friends and family attending.
It took quite some explaining to her parents but they finally agreed on a man of honor instead of a maid of honor. Maine really wanted Cass to be that person for her, because Cass was supportive of their relationship from the start, and has always been her go-to in times of low self-esteem. While Liv remained a close friend, it was Cass who got to know her better and understood her without judgement regardless of the way she dressed or the choices she made in the past.
It was also Cass who helped her and Alden with the wedding arrangements, flying back to Singapore with them to do an ocular of the venue and working with a wedding planner in Singapore to get things rolling. Maine owed a lot to Cass and she definitely considered Cass as the sister she wished she had.
Her real sister Nicole was coming for the wedding, she arrived late last night but the sisters never got to talk anymore because Maine was sleeping then. Nicole and Maine were not close, they were different as night and day. Nicole was the silent and brooding sister, while Maine was the bubby and boisterous one. Nicole was the artist of the family, a painter with quite a following in New York. She rarely ever goes back to the Philippines because of her busy schedule, so it please Maine that she made time for the wedding.
There was a knock on her door and Cass checked who was there. It was Maine's brother Nico.
"Good morning, bibi."
"Kuya........"
"Just came by to give you this. Pinapabigay ni Alden."
"Yes ako rin may ipapabigay kuya." She stood up to get a box from her suitcase and handed it to Nico.
"Kuya.......I havene't thanked you enough for pushing back your wedding date para mauna kami ni Alden. Maraming salamat ha."
"It's nothing Maine. We already got wed in civil rites, the church wedding is more for dad's and mom's sake naman. I know how important this is to you."
He hugged her and kissed her forehead. "Maine, I want you to be happy. For all the bullying and failure to be a good brother to you, this small favor is not enough to make up for my mistakes. Mahal kita, bibi, remember that. I know Alden is a good guy, pero pag nagkamali siya na saktan ka, just call me. I will take care of you."
"Kuyaaaaaa........stop making me cry. Grabe ka." She shakily dabbed at her tears and punched Nico in the arm affecionately.
"Ganda mo naman ngayon bibi ha. Saka may boobs ka na o, di ka na plywood."
