Hello there my dears! Long weekend is love, isn't it? Hope I get enough updates done for you this weekend, and I hope you also have enough time to squeeze to read my updates.
It's hard being at odds with someone you really like, no? When you have this person you're attracted to but are forced to keep your distance because of a clash in opinion or ideas. Kahit gusto mo na batiin, your principles get in the way because if you make the first move, it's like admitting you're wrong.
FicMaine is taking this stance. She felt judged, led on and rejected by Alden, even if he had good intentions, so she stayed away as a form of self-preservation. But self preservation has its limits too. If it's making you miserable, how difficult would it be to make amends, especially if the other party makes the first move?
A common mistake of women is to make men grovel for forgiveness before they are ever forgiven, and to be honest, it's immature and petty. I know some men deserve to be punished, but I believe there are still the good boyfriends who are made to suffer unnecessarily just because the girls feel they should pay for what they did.
Here's some unsolicited advice: before you inflict that punishment, think why you're doing it. Is it because you're hurt? You want payback? You're teaching him a lesson? Would you want to be treated the way you treat him?
See what FicMaine's approach is when the time comes for her and Alden. I hope you'll see how pleasant it is to embrace your true feelings and enjoy life, rather than spend it exacting payback, not just from boyfriends or suitors, but from anybody in general.
Happy long weekend my loves :)
In the days that followed, Maine kept her distance from Alden. He may be nice to her, but his words of rejection still rang inside her head. Whatever they could discuss over chat or email, she did that way, shunning from discussing things face to face. Cassie noticed the cold war between the two and decided to take matters into his hands.
"Alden, kailangan ko nang ma-dress up yung model units sa Cavite projects. Wala pa tayong bagong ads and videos para don. Kelan niyo ba balak puntahan ni Maine yun?"
"Ask her. Hindi ako kinakausap eh."
"Bakit, anong ginawa mo?"
"Anong ginawa ko? Wala. Pinagmamalasakitan na nga siya, inis pa."
"Ikaw naman......ikaw ang lalaki di ikaw ang manuyo."
"Maybe it's for the best, Cass. Alam mo naman stand ko with women diba?"
"Pfftttt. Hanggang kelan ba yang celibacy project mo? It's been three years, almost four na nga eh. Siguro naman, pwede mo nang patawarin sarili mo sa hindi mo naman kasalanan."
"Wag na natin pagusapan yun Cass. Ayokong masaktan ko si Maine. Maybe it's better she thinks the worst of me."
"Pero gusto mo siya? Yung tutoo."
"........"
"Di ka makasagot. I take it that means yes. Den, mabait si Maine. Gusto ko siya for you. Sige ka, mauunahan ka ni Gab. Ang sipag nun."
"Gusto ba siya ni Maine?"
"Kahit di niya gusto yun, kakatiyaga nun, makukuha niya si Maine. Ganyan kami eh, nakukuha kami sa tiyaga."
"Bat pati ikaw nasama?"
"Ah talaga, babasagin mo ko?"
"Biro lang."
