Today's the day, the day my family and I move to Canada. I know that's it's for the best, we need a fresh start after what happened back in England, this move will definitely create a better life for us out here.

My mum throws me the keys to our new home then she goes to help my dad with the boxes and bags from the car. I unlock the door to be greeted with a fresh scent, it was so empty, it was beautiful.

As you walk in the first thing you see is a massive living area, with a wide stair case in the middle, toward the back of the house there is a dinning room and a open plan kitchen. The Garden is large with a cute little swinging chair with lots of cushions in the corner that the previous owners must had left here.

While I was exploring the down stairs area of our new home my little sister Harley ran upstairs to choose her bedroom.

Upstairs there was 4 bedrooms, one for my mum and dad, one for me and one for my little sister. There was also A spare room for guests who come to visit from back home in England. 3 out of the 4 rooms had bathrooms in them. There was also another room to the left with build in desks that I assume my dad will use as an office.

I choose the first bedroom you will see when you reach the top of the stairs, it's a big room with a walk in closet and a bathroom. There is also a window that over looks next doors house, it looks directly into one of there bedrooms. Definitely need to remember to shut them blinds when I'm getting undressed.

Once I've finished admiring my new room, picturing in my mind where all my belonging will live I go back down stairs to help unpack the boxes.

My mum and dad are currently placing all of the living room furniture in the correct place so I start on the kitchen. I grab boxes that have 'kitchen' written on them and start placing everything in drawers and cupboards.

That took me about an hour, I left a few items on the counter that would be placed in the higher cupboards but my dad will have to put them up there because I'm only 5"2 and I would break a bone getting them all in the right places.

After I've helped out with little bits down stairs I get started on my own room. The delivery man have already placed my bed and furniture in there along with all the correct boxes so all I have to do is put everything away.

The first thing I did was put my phone on charge then I started putting all my clothes away in my closet. It took me about 3 hours to have my room sorted out, it was long and a lot of effort but I had music on so it was easier, it probably took me so long because I was stoping to dance and sing.

This place was already starting to feel like home, England hadn't been home for us for a while so it was the right thing to move here.

After everything that happened we didn't want Harley growing up in a place with all them horrible memories, when it was happening she was only 3, but she's 4 now. Even though she doesn't fully understand why we left London, she remembers the events that happened and the people involved.

We know that eventually she'll forget that we once had another sister because her memories are vague due to her age but when the time is right and she is old enough to understand what happened that horrible night we will tell her, that's what Ruby would have wanted.

I already miss my friends and family but they understand why we moved, obviously we will go back for big family events. I'm 17 so It will be easy for me to go back on my own to see my friends whenever I'm homesick.

I've only ever been to Toronto once when I was 12, but I've never been to Pickering so I decide to take a walk around the neighbourhood to see what's around here.
