21- I messed up

"Answer it"

"Yasmin I'm scared"

"Alicia Brown answer fucking the phone"

"Alright aright calm down"

"Hello?" I say trying to sound calm.

"Put it on speaker" Yasmin whispers and I follow her instructions.

"Sunshine! Are you okay? Where are you? Are you safe?" he said sounding panicked

"Shawn I'm fine, I'm with Yasmin" I reply with no emotion, still very angry.

"Oh thank god you are safe, I was worried sick" He said sighing on the other end of the phone.

"Yeah, right" I scoff at him, Yasmin kicks my leg forcing me to look up at her death glare.

"So, am I going to hear an explanation or not? Because I think I deserve one don't you?" I continue not letting him reply to my first comment.

"Of course Sunshine, I will tell you everything, but not over the phone, I need to see you, is that okay?" he said sounding like a lost puppy.

I look up to Yasmin for the answer, she nods giving me permission to see him.

"Fine, meet me at the 24 hour cafe by school in 15 minutes" I say with a slight break in my voice.

"Okay see you then, and ehh Sunshine I love you" he says melting my heart even though I'm still so angry, Yasmin's hand raises to her heart and her face looks like shes just seen a new born kitten, I roll my eyes at her.

"Yeah, ehh see you in 15" I say as I hang up the phone.

"You have to admit that was cute" Yasmin said poking my leg.

"He probably just said that, can I keep your pj's on while I walk to the cafe?"

"I can give you real clothes if you want? and I'll drop you off at the cafe its almost 4 in the morning you can't walk down the street in PJ's."

"No, I like these, they are comfy, exactly Yas, it's nearly 4 in the morning I've already taken up enough of your time you need to sleep." I say putting on some of her converse to walk in.

"Okay but I want a word for word explanation tomorrow morning" she says standing up and hugging me. I agree to tell her everything and thank her for everything she has done for me.

On the short walk to the cafe I begin to get nervous, I try to convince my body not to cry the second I see him. When the cafe is in sight I can already see his car parked in the parking lot. I take a huge breath in and walk into the cafe. The little bell on the door rang signalling that I had just walked in. I see Shawn's head rise from his phone and he instantly got up to greet me.

"Hi, I ordered your favorite" He said shyly

"Thanks" I bluntly said sitting down in front of my drink and he sat opposite me.

"You look like you've been crying I'm so sorry babe" He said looking down at his fingers.

"Well yes Shawn, obviously I've been crying its not everyday the guy you are in love with makes out with your best friend in front of you is it?" I say slightly raising my voice. "And you don't get to call me that until I've heard everything" I say sinking back into my seat after that short wave of confidence.

Shawn looks taken back for a minute, hurt was all over his face, he looked so broken but it shouldn't be him feeling that way it should be me.

"Ali, every single word of what I am going to tell you is true, if there is any part of you that still trusts me you have you believe me, okay?" he said placing his hand over mine but I quickly take it away.

"Okay" I simply say taking a sip of my drink.

"Georgia came up from behind me and placed her hands over my eyes, I thought it was you returning from the restroom, I thought that it would be something you would do after a few drinks" he said pausing for a breath and he ran his hand through his hair.

"She moved around in front of me, still covering my eyes, she began to kiss me and I kissed back thinking it was you" at this point tears where running down my face as i looked into his eyes, I didn't even try to hide my hurt.

"Ali at no point during the whole situation did I think it was anyone but you, when I pulled away I seen you standing there and I was so confused then I looked and was even more confused" he said, now a tear running down his face too.

I couldn't speak I just listened

"Ali, I tried to run after you but she grabbed me and I couldn't help but scream at her I was so angry that she would do something to ruin what we have, something she knew would hurt you." he said now crying uncontrollably. I mirrored his actions and placed my hands over his, he looked so broken I hated seeing him like this.

"Ask me anything I swear I'll tell you the truth" he said gripping onto my hands scared I'd let go.

"What was her reason?" I ask nervous for the answer.

His eyes turned into a sympathetic look making me even more nervous for the answer.

When he told me what she had said I wasn't even shocked at this point, after the stunt she pulled tonight anything was possible with that bitch.

"wow" is all I can say.

"I'm sorry Shawn" I say regretting jumping to conclusions.

He then quickly moved from his seat and slid next to me and put his arm around my shoulder, my head was filled with a thousand thoughts.

"Ali, don't be silly I would be angry too, its my fault I should have just opened my eyes" he said angry at himself.

"It's not your fault, I just have shit taste in friends apparently" I say sighing leaning my head on his shoulder.

"Do you forgive me?" he said, I feel his breathing change as he waits for my answer.

"Yes" I say looking up at him smiling. "do me a favor and don't do it again though" I say laughing a little 

"You don't have to worry about that, can I call you Babe and Sunshine now?" he asks kissing the tip of my nose causing me to smile.

"Yes, I missed it, I don't like you calling me by my name its weird" I say taking a sip of my drink.

He slightly laughs and squeezes my side.

"I'll never forgive myself for causing you pain sunshine, I love you so much you know that right?" he said moving slightly so he can look into my eyes.

"Can we put this behind us now, it's finished you shouldn't feel that way because I'm fine now that I know the truth, I trust you, it wasn't you that causing the pain it was that bitch for doing what she did" I say interlocking our fingers. Realizing I forgot to answer the last part to his sentence I continue.

"Shawn of course I know you love me, you never stop telling me" I say chuckling a little pecking his lips, I answer truthfully even though I had my doubts earlier on in the night.

"I love you too" I finish.

"Can I take you back to my house now? I need some cuddles" he said being cute as always squeezing me again making me chuckle again.

"Can't wait" I say with a little smile as we get up from our seat.

"By the way, I love your outfit" he said taking my hand, I twirl around doing little dance.

"Highest level of comfort has been achieved" I say laughing

"I'm jealous" he giggles putting his arm around my waist as we walk to his car on our way back to his house.
