27- The most perfect weekend part 2

Once our faces were clean we joined the rest of the family in the living room, it was such a nice experience without the TV in just talking with everyone.

Karen cracked open the white wine and gave me a glass because she knows that I'm legally allowed to in England and I'm almost 19 anyway. Whereas Manny and Shawn had a pint each. And Aaliyah, only being 15 had a lemonade.

We talked about anything and everything, we had very serious conversations to conversations that made me cry laughing, I can tell that this is a family i can easily spend all my time with without the awkward silences and feeling uncomfortable.

"So Alicia are from a city close by where Karen's family live?" Manny says from the couch opposite.

I was sat in the middle of Shawn, who had his arm around my shoulder and Aaliyah who's legs where on my knee. Karen was sat next to Manny, also with his arm around Karen.

"Dorset, right?" I speak and Karen nods

"No not really in from the north west of England it's a lot higher than Dorset, but I've been there is really is a beautiful town" I say taking a sip of wine.

Aaliyah then began to speak about learning about cities in the uk in school, she loved having a mother who was British, she thought it was cool that both her parents weren't born Canadian.

"I love that there is another Brit in the family now, has Shawn made you say Marshmallow yet?" I felt Shawn's body shudder as his mum said that, a little giggle left her mouth as she sipped her wine.

"Marshmallow sounds so weird when you Brits say it" Shawn spoke.

"Us Brits?" I say looking up at him in horror.

"My accent isn't your typical British accent though, so do you hate when I say Marshmallow?" I say and he cringes again.

A smile grows on my face as I've finally found something that annoys Shawn.

"No, you both should stop, it's not meant to sound like that, it's gross" Shawn said squeezing my Shoulder.

"So is the way you two say tomato, but you don't hear us complaining do you" Karen said referring to Aaliyah and Shawns accent.

"That's true it's to-mar-to not -to-mate-o" I say looking at Aaliyah because her accent is stronger.

"Well that's just wrong on a whole different level" Aaliyah said throwing her hands up making me giggle.

This debate of British/Canadian accents continued for a while with Manny chipping in every now and then with his Portuguese accent.

"Anyway Mom, as much as this conversation is great the sun is setting and I want to show Ali the view from the roof" Shawn said standing up and holding his hand out for me, which I gladly accepted.

"Okay but don't stay out there too long" Karen called from the kitchen as she put her now empty glass in the sink.

I followed Shawn up the small spiral staircase still holding his hand until he had to unlock the window/door out to the roof, Shawn jumped up and lifted me out because I was too small to step out of the hole.

The roof was basically like sitting on any other house roof but there was a flat but with cushioned bottom with is meant for sitting on.

Shawn has brought a blanket out which he wrapped around both of our bodies to keep us warm from the brisk winds. The view was out to the lake with the sun setting behind it, I gasped at the sight smiling from ear to ear.

"It's beautiful isn't it, I used to come up her all the time with my dad when I was younger, we used to have the deeper conversations out here when I was about 12" Shawn spoke not breaking his eye contact with the water.

I smiled at the thought of Shawn up here with his Dad talking about everything that was worrying his little 12 year old self.

"Well, what Deep conversation do you want to have now? As your 19 year old self, tel me everything you are stressed about, or glad about" I say looking at him nudging his shoulder.

He looked at me like I was mad but then realised I wasn't joking and I actually wanted to help him if he had stuff he wanted to get out.

"Well obviously everything that's been going on with Aaliyah has been stressful because all I want to do is help her but I can't do that if she won't help herself." He says stopping for a breath.

"But I'm glad I have you, every day goes by and my worry gets stronger about you " Shawn says not explaining in further detail.

I narrow my eyes and reply " about me? Why me?" I question

"I worry that one day you will find someone better than me, and guys, there are guys all the time that look at you as if they want you to themselves and it gets me angry" he says tensing at his own words.

My heart sank at his words.

"Well first of all, I don't even thing it's possible to have someone better than you Shawn, no one has ever treated me the way you do, and even if there was the slightest chance that someone would come along and try to flirt with me or whatever, that doesn't mean I would flirt back, why would I? I've got you, and to me, you are the best thing to ever happen to me, so you don't have to worry Mr Mendes I'm not going anywhere" I say slowly, reaching up to Kiss his lips.

"Sunshine, I love you"

"I love you too Shawn"

"Come on it's getting cold we should probably get inside" Shawn suggests and we hurry down the stairs out of the cold and into our warm bed.

another update?? what is this craziness?? hopefully i will be updating more but my life is sooo busy at the moment but im trying!! this weekend will have 4 maybe 5 parts i think.

ANYWAY, who is loving In my blool and Lost in Japan? I love them both!!
