14- Ice cream

I've been spending as much time as I possibly can with Harley, what happened with Aaliyah last week made me realise how much family means to me.

I'm laying on the floor of Harley's play room pretending to be asleep as she pretends to be my mum and care for me. It's her favourite game, I'm not complaining all I have to do is lay here.

Over the past few weeks I've been thinking a lot about ruby, I've been thinking what my life would be like if she got out of that house that night, would he have still found her? Would she be happy? I'll never know.

I am so thankful that Aaliyah is okay and is out of hospital, no one should have to go through losing a sibling so soon in life, there is truly nothing worse.

Harley is currently stroking my hair with her finger on her lips to her toys as if they were being too loud for me to sleep.

I hear a light knock on the door but I couldn't see who it was.

"Shhhhh" Harley said harshly to whoever has Just walked in.

"The baby is sleeping" she continues

"Sorry ray" a familiar voice whispered

"I was just wondering if I could borrow your sister for a few minutes, only if that is okay with you that is" Shawn speaks

"As soon as she is awake she is all yours" I hear Harley say causing me to giggle a little and open one eye to see what's going on.

I fake yawn and pretend to wake up.

"Shawn? When did you get here?" I acted surprised placing a smile on Shawn's face.

"Shawn wants to borrow you" Harley said pouting her lips

"Don't worry ray I'll bring her back" Shawn said as I stand up to leave the room.

We go and sit on the swinging chair in the garden, it was quite cold outside so we probably won't spend a lot of time out here.

"It's about Aaliyah" Shawn says as he sits down making me panic a bit

"She's okay" he starts reassuring me

"She's been seeing the therapist I think it's working and making her feel better but I can't help but think there is something she isn't telling any of us" he said putting his arm around me to keep us warm.

"Shawn you are going to have to give her time, things like this will take some time to recover from, trust me I know, I've been there" I say pulling my hands into the sleeves of my sweater.

"Sunshine? What do you mean you've been there?" Shawn said with a worried expression on his face.

"It was after ruby died, I have severe depression and tried to harm myself, I've been exactly where Aaliyah is I know how she feels, it takes time but she will be okay. I honestly believe that I'm at the happiest place I've ever been in my life right now and it took time but I'm here to stay no moving away ready for a summer romance" I sing to high school musical with the last lyrics causing Shawn to giggle a little wrapping his arms around my body pulling me closer.

"How did I get so lucky?" He said kissing the top of my head.

"I don't know Mendes how did you?" I say moving my head to look into his eyes kissing his lips lightly.

"I love you" I continue

"I love you too babe" he replies kissing my lips once again.

"You've been ages" Harley comes running out of the house to greet us.
