Ch. 13 ~ Panic

          David ran over next to max. He dropped to his knees and lifted the boy by the back of his head. He started to cry.
          Everything around David went to a blur. He was holding Max and sobbing. He couldn't feel anything but fear and sadness. He felt too weak to check if he's okay.
          He felt someone sit next to him. White clothes, like.. Daniel. It was Daniel. David was shaking. Daniel took max away. David couldn't see. Everything was dark. Max was dead.

          David woke up later in the day. He looked around slowly and nobody was in the camp.
          He lifted his weak body to his feet. He walked to the dock and sat down. He dangled his legs over the end. "What happened?" ... "oh, yeah."
          He looked into the water. He noticed something silver beside him. It was one of the knives Nurf left behind. He picked it up and looked back into the water.
