Ch. 21 ~ sorry.. Max...

          Daniel arrived back at the house. He got out of his car and walked to the door. It's locked. He knocked on the door.
          "Who is it?" Max called out.
          "It's me.. Daniel.."
          "Oh.." Max opened the door. "Where's David?"
          Daniel sqatted sown. He swung his arms around Max and started to cry again.
          "I'm so sorry Max..." Daniel tightened his hug. Max shivered.
          "What do you mean? WHERE'S DAVID?!" Max tried pushing Daniel off.
          "Sometimes, bad things happen..."
          "WHY ARE YOU TWO ACTING LIKE THIS?!"
          "Max... sometimes.. people don't feel good.. about themselves.."
          "..What are you saying..." Max relaxed.
          "Max..." Daniel whiped a tear. "Some people make bad choices." He took a moment to catch his breath. "David.. did something bad.. to himself... and.." He choked on his words.
          "Daniel..?"
          "He's not....... with us... anymore.."
          "Th- That's not true!" Max tried pushing Daniel off. "He's not dead!"
          "Max...."
          "NO! HE DIDN'T DIE!" He finally got away from Daniel. "You're lying to me..." he hesitated. "...right..?"
          "I'm so sorry Max..." Daniel stood up. "I'll give you time..."
          Max ran to his room and shut the door. He leaned against it until he slid to the floor.
          The first person that cared about him. The only person that wanted to protect him. He was gone. The only adult that would keep him. The reason why he was alive.. gone.
          Daniel got a call from the hospital.
          "Sir. Are you planning on having a funeral?" The Nurse's voice came so sudden.
          "Uhm.. yes?" Daniel started to feel horrible.
          "Is he being cremated?"
          "CAN-- can we talk about this later...?" Daniel was about to hang up.
          "Of course! We'll call later!"
          Daniel hung up.
Everything was falling apart.
