Breathing was a pain.

Talking was a pain.

Walking was a pain.

Living was a pain.

Everything brought pain to him. Everything brought back memories.

What was this world without her? A dull, melcanholy, nostalgic place.

Nothing was the same.

Life used to be a river meandering freely and slowly. Now, it was a raving river.

He was broken, like a shell in the ocean, crushed by strong waves.

"Mom, he's doing it again." A boy at the age of 13 whispered to his mother. "Let him be. There's nothing we can do." The mother and son stared at the boy sitting across from them. He had a blank stare. "But mom, just look at him!" The son complained. The mother sighed and cleared "Jungkook...Are you alright?" Jungkook paid no attention. He couldn't hear her. He was in his own little world, away from the misery he was living. The mother went up to her son and tapped his shoulder "Kookie, eat." She gestured towards the untouched food in front of him. "Huh? Oh, no thank you. Would it be okay if I walked somewhere?" She looked at her son in distress, but didn't argue. He did it everyday. "Okay, don't be out too long."

Jungkook walked down the street while listening to a soft melody coming from his headphone. He looked up to the sky and sighed while stuffing his two hands into his jacket's warm pockets. Jungkook in a large amount of air before letting it out, creating a little cloud of fog because of his warm breath in the cold air. He looked around and saw children running around, couples hand in hand, and people dressed in layers of clothes because of the cold. Jungkook walked for two miles before walking into a cafe. The nice warm air hit him and he relaxed. He sat down at a table for two. "Hello, what would you like, jungkook? The usual? Will she be coming?" He shook his head. "Just...one." The unaware waitress jotted down what Jungkook always got "Okay, Taehyung will be out with your drink." The waitress walked to the back to drop off the order. Jungkook focused on the song playing in the background. Memories flooded his head, taking him on a trip to memory lane.

"Have you learned the new piece yet?" Jungkook wrapped his arms around himself and sat down next to a girl wearing a red ribbon. "Nope, but I was hoping you had a simple piece you wanted me to play." The girl looked at him. "(Y/N) , how come you know me so well?" Jungkook laughed and pulled out a two piece music sheet. "I found this while on the internet and thought it sounded nice. It was composed by a women named Amy. It's called 'The Unfinished Story'." (Y/N) scanned the notes and nodded. "Looks lovely." (Y/N) smiled and got into playing position. "Yeah, it was so beautiful, I wanted to see you play it."

(Y/N) hands smoothly glided along the keyboard and the piano made beautiful sounds to go along with her graceful movements. Jungkook was still left amazed and breathless even though he's seen her play numerous times. (Y/N) being the perfectionist she was, never failed to sweep Jungkook off his feet. Her hands skillfully moved from one key to another. She played like she had been practicing the piece for years, but this was the first time she's ever seen these notes combined. (Y/N) was that amzing. She could play a variety of music. When (Y/N) offers to play, no one can smiply walk away. (Y/N) ended the song and jungkook clapped. "That was lovely." (Y/N) smiled her famous smile. "Stop it, jungkook, and thank you...This piece is just absolutely beautiful. Words really can't describe it." (Y/N) shyly looked down.

"Jungkook, here's your caramel latte." Jungkook snapped out of his thoughts, looked up and saw the tall blonde. "Oh, thank you." The waitor sighed and sat in front of jungkook. "Are you okay, bud?" Jungkook looked at the latte in his hands. He looked at the design. They were music notes. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Jungkook looked out from the cafe window and watched as busy people rushed to get to their destination. "I have nothing left." Jungkook whispered softly. The waitor had sympathy in his eyes. Jungkook took a sip of the hot latte. The sweet familiar taste filled his mouth and brought him back to another memory.
