Chapter Forty

"Harper, can you help me with something?" Harry asks me from the doorway of the kitchen.

"What is it?" I look up from the coffee maker.

"Luna mentioned to me about Ravenclaw's history about Rowena's diadem. She couldn't tell me anymore but pointed me to you. Do you know where the Grey Lady is?"

"The ghost and daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw? She hates being called the Grey Lady," I reply. I had met Helena on the first day of school in my first year.

Since then we had a close bond and we had some long talks into the night when I had no one.

"Her name's Helena and after I finish this I'll show you where she is."

"This is extremely urgent."

I sigh before pulling Harry passed some corridors to a giant door.

"She's behind this door, and be careful of your words. The last thing you want is to anger her," I explain.

He takes a deep breath before walking in. I had asked Helena about her mother's diadem--a tiara--but she was always so secretive about it.

I suspected it was one of Voldemort's horocruxes. I talked to Hermione about some of them when she found out what they were.

Horocruxes were entities with Voldemort's soul in them. When he was younger he had ripped his soul apart.

I kept track on most of them; a locket, tiara, book, ring, chalice, and snake. I think Voldemort always had that snake Nagini next to him.

I return to the kitchen and finish making Jee's americano. It was the least I could do, and they wouldn't allow dogs or music in the dungeon either, which was pretty sad.

I make my way to the dungeon and pass some older kids standing guard. The dungeons were dark and murky with some puddles here and there.

I spot a little figure hugging an older boy. I look closer to see it was Jee and Yoongi, asleep on each other's head or shoulder.

I shake Jee's shoulder a little. Her face instantly lights up when I hand her drink.

"What the hell? You can't do that!" Minah, I think, started screeching at my right next to Jee and Yoongi.

"Piss off, bitch," I sneer and wave to Jee and Yoongi good bye before exiting.

Professor McGonagall chanted a powerful spell where a whole bunch of stone soldiers around the castle came alive and started moving towards the bridge (entrance) of the school.

I find Namjoon staring at the ominous figures across the long stretch of grass.

"I know that's Voldemort and his Death Eaters," Namjoon clenches his fists while gritting his teeth.

"Professor McGonagall was right--she knew all along that a big battle was coming up," I say quietly.

"Harper! Crap, move!" Namjoon pushes me to the side and we collapse onto the hard ground. I look up through the window that we hard barely just missed a spell.

The shield had broken.

I help Namjoon up and we try to find the others. We help Hobi and Taehyung from three death eaters before being surrounded by a whole bunch.

We all back into each other, wands at the ready. How many were there? 25? 30? I didn't know since they had used a spell to multiply themselves.

That spell was forbidden so students never learned it.

I was ready to distract them so the others could escape when all the Death Eaters surrounding us dropped to the ground and turned to stone, evidently breaking into huge chunks.

My breathing evens a little when I see Yoongi and some other Slytherins standing behind. I was so happy I flung my arms around Yoongi, startling him.

"Oh my God I thought we were going to die!" Hobi starts to freak out. Namjoon and Taehyung try their best to calm him down.

"Where the heck is Jimbles and eomma?" Jee asks with a panicked look.

"I don't know, the last I heard from them is when they were in a class with Jungkook," Taehyung states.

"Across the school, I think?" Namjoon adds.

Jee's eyes light up and she pulls us all across the school.

"Why are you bringing all of us?" Yoongi asks.

"Cause I suck at fighting so if I'm alone or with one or two people, we'll still be dead meat," she answers quickly.

Finally we see Jungkook and Jimin fighting off two Death Eaters. Jin was shrieking in the corner.

"They wanted to hurt my precious face!" Jin kept shouting like a maniac while Jimin and Jungkook were protecting him.

Hobi cheers a little before joining Jin his his corner of cowardliness.

"Oh thank God you're here!" I hear another voice behind me.

I turn around to see Celia and Jordis.

I release my breath and we envelope each other into a group hug.

"Where were you?!" I ask.

"We were looking for you, and then we ran into a bunch of Death Eaters. Wasn't one of your roommates Rose? Because..." Celia lowers her voice. "Rose died."

I almost choke and bite my lip.

Jordis's P.O.V

My heart lept out of my throat when I saw Taehyung and he was completely fine. I run into his arms and almost start crying.

Like hell I was ready for this day.

I wrap my arms around his neck as he strokes my hair. My breathing evens gradually.

"We need to stick together. If we separate, that makes us easier targets," Harper starts to explain.

"And each Death Eater can be stronger than the other so we need to be extra careful," Jimin adds. "Jungkookie and I learned that the hard way."

"But do we even know how to defeat Voldemort?" Taehyung asks.

Jin and Hobi start screaming again at the mention of his name.

"Hey, he's already here. The damage is already done," Yoongi says quickly. The two only hugged each other tighter.

I honestly felt really bad for them.

"Harry, Hermione, and Ron are on it. They've already destroyed most of the things that sustain the dark lord's life," Harper explains further.

"How do you know so much?" Jungkook looks at Harper with an astonished look on his face.

"Hermione's one of my best friends and we both research...a lot," she shrugs.

"Okay so instead of waiting here, can we look for Aaron now?" Celia cuts into the conversation.

We all agree and set out to find him.
