Chapter Thirty-Four

Winter~

It was finally winter so we got some time off from our studies. Jordis, Celia, and I decided to go to a local pub to try Ginger Beer.

It was becoming extremely popular at Hogwarts so we decided to try it.

We seated ourselves at a booth near the entrance of the pub. I saw Hermione, Ron, and Harry walk in.

After waiting we finally got our drinks.

"I hope this doesn't taste like garbage," Jordis comments as she takes the handle of the cup.

"So you finally admitted you've tried garbage?" Celia asks with a small giggle.

"Fine," Jordis sighs with a playful roll of her eyes. "It was Christmas morning and my brothers tricked me. They put a spell on garbage but made it look like my Jell-O."

"Ew," I scrunch my nose. "Okay, let's try it."

We count to three before taking a small sip. To be honest, it actually wasn't bad. I think Celia also agreed because she downed her cup in less than 5 minutes.

"It was okay," Jordis moved her hand in the middle to make a "so-so" motion.

Celia suddenly gasps and ushers us to another booth where Ginny and another boy sat.

"That's Ginny and Dean!" Jordis gushes. 

"Are they on a date?" Celia asks.

"They've been dating for a month now or so I've been told," I reply with a shrug as I take another sip of my drink.

"I see the way Harry looks at her," Jordis shakes her head. "The rumors turned out to be true, the Harry Potter fell for a Weasley."

"You say that like it's a bad thing. I will let you know that it's not," I reply quickly.

"Hello ladies!" our conversation was interrupted by Professor Slughorn.

"Hello Professor," I give him a small wave. "What brings you here to a pub?"

"I was just passing by and saw you. Would like to join me and some other students for a small ice cream party?"

"Um, can Jordis and Celia come?" Like hell I was going to a party alone. I don't give a crap even when they say "small."

"Absolutely!" Professor Slughorn then gives me the details before walking off.

"Well that was weird," Celia comments before asking the waitress for another Ginger Beer.

"This does seem like a small gathering so I guess I will go," Jordis shrugs. She also hated parties like me.

"No way..." my jaw drops open when I see Ginny and Dean kiss.

"They're dating, what do you expect?" Jordis asks while she finishes her drink.

"Have you kissed Taehyung yet?"

I see a faint crimson appear on her cheeks. "No..."

"Have you kissed Logan?" I ask Celia. She almost spits her drink out.

"No, and I'm glad."

"See. I just proved my point, even you helped," I laugh at Jordis's still blushing face.

"W-well, have you kissed anyone ever?"

"No, of course not. Besides, I've never had a boyfriend," I reply shortly.

"You will soon," Celia snorts a little. The drink  must've gone to her nose or something because she suddenly crouched and covered her nose.

"Can I join you?" I look up to see Hermione on the brink of tears. I move Jordis to Celia's side so Hermione sat next to me.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Just that I totally embarrassed myself in front of Ron."

"What did you do? Seriously, if you like him that much you should just tell him before he gets taken," Jordis states.

"Drink mustache. And I can't. What if I get rejected? What if--"

"Hermione. Dude, I don't think so. It's clear that he likes you," I interrupt her.

"Fine," she sighs and sniffs a little. "I'll find a good time to tell him. Thanks."

"No problem," Jordis waves it off.

After we chat a little more before we exit the pub.

Jordis decided to bring Taehyung while Celia invited this guy named Aaron to the ice cream party.

You only live once so why not? I invited Yoongi. He seemed surprised but agreed which surprised me even more.

It was held in Professor Slughorn's office. There was a large round table where we sat ourselves. A big ice cream cup was placed in front of all of us.

I saw some other Ravenclaw along with Slytherin and Gryffindor students. I only spotted one Hufflepuff.

The gathering couldn't be more awkward for Hermione. Professor Slughorn asked us all questions about ourselves and personal lives.

Hermione was a muggle-born so it was humiliating when she said her parents were dentists. While other's parents were in the Ministry of Magic or whatnot, her parents fixed teeth.

I read about dentists in the library once. It was horrifying.

"So Mr. Min," Professor Slughorn turns his attention to Yoongi. I almost choke on my ice cream.

"Who's in your family?" Seriously? Just seriously?! I mentally facepalm.

"I have a younger sister and a dad," he replies curtly before finishing his mint ice cream.

"Ah. Which house is she in?" Oh, my God.

"Slytherin."

Professor Slughorn continued asking him questions with Yoongi replying short answers.

Finally, he quit but then started on Taehyung.

"What is your relationship with Ms. Merseth? I see you two are quite close."

Oh, my God. My eyes grow wide as I make eye contact with her.

"We're just friends, sir," Taehyung gulps down his ice cream. I could tell he almost did choke on it when the question was asked.

I see Jordis sigh of relief. It is pretty embarrassing telling a teacher you're dating someone. We're all not that close.

Then the door opens to reveal Ginny with red eyes.

"What's going on?" Yoongi whispers to me quickly.

"She must have had another fight with Dean."

"Who's Dean?"

"Her boyfriend."

"She has a boyfriend?!"

Yoongi was loud enough to catch some people's attention. He froze in his spot and awkwardly played with his silver spoon. (*cough*)

Harry then stood up and excused himself. Yup, he did like Ginny. It was as clear as day.

After ten more agonizing minutes, we all were allowed to exit.

"I am so sorry," I apologize to Jordis, Taehyung, and Yoongi.

Taehyung was still in shock while Jordis kept fiddling with her fingers. Yoongi just shrugged it off.

"Good luck on the Quidditch game," I whisper to him. Yoongi was a beater on the Slytherin Quidditch team and a big game was the next day.

"Thanks," he whispers back with a small smile.

I wave him good night. When I go to my dorm, I see in a mirror that my cheeks were red.
