I was wrong.

Carter is a fool.

After numerous failed attempts of trying to focus in math. I proceeded to science, hoping that I could focus with one of my friends around.

I entered the laboratory and saw Jessica sitting at one of the tables and writing in her journal with an empty space beside her.

"Hey Jess." I said sitting beside her.

"Oh hi Blair!" She said looking up from her journal.

"What's up?" I say casually as I take out my books.

"Nothing much. There's a new rumor swirling around the school though." She says playing with her pencil.

"Okay spill."

"Okay so everyone is talking about this new kid. They say he's pretty cute but he's quite a jackass."

"Do you know his name?"

"Something like.... Andrew? Uhmm... Yeah I forgot." She said giggling.

"Doesn't matter." I say smiling. "Why would he bother with two dweebs like us?" I nudged her arm and smiled.

Our Science teacher soon walked into the room and started the class. I had completely forgotten about my awkward accident earlier so I was able to focus on the lesson.

Science was my favorite subject. I loved all the experiments and projects we were asked to do and the things we had to mix, especially when we were using all the lab equipment and mixing chemicals and substances. Having interest in the subject, I was good at it. I had straight As in science almost every year.

It seemed like just 5 minutes until the bell rang. Jessica and I proceeded outside and walked into the crowded hallway. Everyone was going to the cafeteria for lunch so all we had to do was go with the flow.

Beth soon joined us and the three of us entered the cafeteria. We walked to the back of the room, because obviously that's where us nerds were exiled. We were indirectly banished from sitting in or near the middle of the cafeteria because that's where all the popular people were. Including Thomas and Monica.

"Do you see him?" Jess says to me.

"See who?" Beth asks.

"This new kid. Everyone's talking about him." Jess says.

"Oh you mean Carter Andrews?" Beth says cutting a piece of her meat.

Wait what

I choked on my food.

"Woah Blair are you okay?" Jess says rubbing my back.

"Did you just say Carter Andrews??"

Beth and Jess look at each other. "Well yeah. What's wrong?" Beth says.

I was about to tell them my awkward incident with the guy until I hear a familiar voice behind me.

"You're late, I assume?" He says smirking.

Speak of the devil.

"That's him." Beth says whispering in my ear and as I turn around I find Carter Andrews standing at the nerd table.

"Oh Jesus how did you find me?" I said standing up.

"I just looked for the clumsiest brown haired gilt I could find." He says folding his arms.

"Wow." I say sarastically. "Blair." I managed to blurt out.

"Excuse me?"

"It's B-Blair. Blair, ... Thompson." I stutter. The awkward demon possesses me again.

I looked over his shoulder and students started to stare. I bet they were wondering what a total dork like me was doing talking to him. It was pretty rare actually, that someone else aside from Bethany or Jessica was speaking to me.

The last time someone spoke to me was Arthur Springfield when he was a new kid and when he found out that I was an outcast, he left me because he thought it would be 'bad for his image.'

"Delighted." He said shaking my hand, smiling warmly.

Oh God. I feel like I'm gonna puke.
