After a stressful day at the dentist, the metal hell in my mouth was finally removed, thing is, I haven't looked in the mirror to see the outcome yet and I've just been standing in front of the mirror debating against myself whether or not I should open my eyes.
5 years of looking in the mirror and smiling with my braces on, I forgot what it was like to eat any food I liked and not get wounds inside my mouth. What if I looked ugly? What would people think?
To hell what people think.
I took a deep breath, uncovered my eyes and smiled with my mouth open.
Ohmygod.
Looks like this ugly duckling is on her way to swanhood. I definitely looked better than before. Maybe people would stop stereotyping me as a nerd. And at least now, beaver girl is off the list or horrid names.
But of course, since today was the day I got my braces off, it was also the day of the big party.
And the plan.
I had prayed and prayed all week that our plan would go off without any hitches, and if all went well, then someone would finally stand up to those popular bitches.
It was currently 6pm and the party would be starting in two hours, which gave us just enough time to set everything up.
I heard the doorbell ring and I jogged downstairs and opened the door, and there stood my two best friends, makeup boxes, dresses and shoes in their hands. We all smiled at each other and proceeded to my room to get ready.
After a few minutes of figuring out what I was going to wear, I walked towards my walk in closet and picked my outfit. I changed into a strapless white shirt with a pep-look fringe at the waistline that stopped right in the middle of my thighs and paired it with long black leggings and white heels. I curled my hair and pulled it to one side and pinned the back. An since my mom said I bloomed so much, she bought me contact lenses.
After putting all if that on an looking in the mirror, I could barely even recognize myself.
Beth was wearing a strapless floral dress with a heart gaped collar line and paired it with a white purse and black gladiator sandals. She also curled her hair and styled it up in a high pony, with her bangs hanging at the side.
Jessica decided to wear a plain white tank top with a pink skater skirt with a thing black studded belt on her waist and paired that with black flats. Her hair was styled in a side braid with a pink bow tied to the end.
After putting on Blush, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick and lots of other makeup and jewelry, we were ready to go, and since Beth had borrowed her parents' red Ferrari, we were able to ride to the party in style.
We got into the car and Beth immediately twisted the key to her a roaring engine. We all smiled at each other and rode off to the party. On our way, I glanced at Carter's house and saw that his car wasn't there. That means he was already at the party.
As we approached the booming mansion, we went through the plan one last time. We parked at the opposite sidewalk and I felt the engine turn off. We got out of the car and proceeded to the house, with drunk teenagers kissing in the front yard and red cups everywhere.
As we entered the house, the loud music immediately entered my ears and my schoolmates were dancing their pants off.
We made our way to the bar where we ordered 3 shots of whiskey. And got on the dance floor. After a few minutes of dancing, I heard my phone buzz in my pocket. I opened the text and it was from Carter, who was asking me to meet him at the jacuzzi. I excused myself from my friends and made my way to the back of the house.
I saw Carter looking up at the stars and approached him.
"Hey." I spoke as he turned around looking stunned. He scanned me from head to toe and our eyes met.
"You're so beautiful." He said blushing. I giggled a little and he gave me a red rose.
"What's this?" I said confused.
"You're going to have to act all flirty with Thomas later and... I just want to let you know that I like you.. uhmm.. A lot." He blushed some more. I smiled and lifted his chin.
"Looks like we share something in common mister Andrews." I said and his mouth started to curve upwards into a smile.
"And I thought you were a bad boy." I winked.
"Who says Im not?" He smirked and pulled my waist closer to his body. I shifted uncontrollably and tried to get out of his grasp, but he was too strong. I gave up and looked up into his eyes, his beautiful green eyes. His head inched little by little and so did mine.
He pressed his lips against mine whilst pulling my waist towards his abdomen. I put my hands around his shoulders to deepen the kiss. It was soft and passionate, and after a while, we pulled away for air.
He smiled like a child getting candy from the candy store, and pulled me into a tight hug, and held me as if something was going to take me away.
