Chapter 21

Welcome to a new chapter!  The things that I'm about to talk about in this chapter is probably going to make some of you upset with me. That's okay though, I can't be delusional and expect everyone to agree with what I'm saying.

In life, people judge you based on your character and basically on how you carry yourself. The way you speak, dress and socialize is carefully analyzed like a morsel of food. This is the same exact procedure for your writing.

What I would really like to discuss today is confidence in your writing and the way you speak to your readers.

Regardless if you guys want to admit this or not, we judge people unconsciously.

If an author makes a mistake, we instinctively notice. I know this might be hard to admit, but we're all human and we do things that we don't even know we do.

I can almost always tell if an author has confidence in his/ her writing. One thing I hate to see is an author putting himself/ herself down.

At the beginning or ending of the chapter, you're like:  I know this chapter sucked.

Don't doubt your credibility, darling. You are strong, okay?

You wouldn't believe what I'm about to admit. It took me two weeks to gather enough confidence to publish this book. I was so scared that people would judge me and get mad. I'm actually still a little scared, but not as much. When I published the first chapter of this book, I was surprised by all the positive remarks I got.

I've already said this before, but I'm going to say it again. If you know that writing is NOT for you, then don't it. Do you know that some of your readers can tell if you are truly genuine about your books?

Yes, they can. They look at your imagery, descriptions, characterization, use of vivid language etc. So, if you're not compassionate about it, please don't feel angry if you don't get the right feedback.

Be careful how you interact with your readers. I appreciate all of your comments and votes so much. You are like my gems. There's a difference between being confident and cocky. I don't know about you, but if I feel somebody is being rude to me, I'm SHAGONE!  I don't care how nice you may seem, I can usually see through that patch of plastic.

Which one do you think will get a positive response ?

1. Hello, would you kindly mind reading my book if you have the time, please? I understand if you don't have the time. Thank you.

2. Read my book DAWG, you won't regret it. Later.

Which one?

A lot of people PM me, asking me like the person in #2. You know what I did?  I ignored them completely. They acted as if I was OBLIGATED to read their book. No, I'm not. I'm in school right now, I don't even have time to sleep. Yet.... Some rude people expect me to just jump up and read their book.

LOL! #DECEASED!

You have another THINK coming!

You BET not lose your mind so early, sweetie.

I don't like to see people desperate for attention.

You're reading a book's summary. It says:

Please, DON'T read this book.

Listen, Linda.

Human beings have this mechanism, when they're told NOT to do something, they still do it anyway.

What's funny is that these books that have these types if summaries, have hundreds of thousands of reads.

Holy shark infested waters!

Holy shark infested waters!

Shanono!

The book probably is just a bunch of words crammed together, but whatever. Such is life.

In conclusion, I would like to apologize to some of you.

My last chapter of Lost Souls To The Psycho. I am so sorry to those of you that read it. I took that chapter down when I realized how terrible it was. Now, that entire book is going through editing to make sure that it meets up to my standards. I felt really disappointed in myself that I let you guys read that. I know that I can do much better. So, I'm definitely working on making it way better for you guys.

I'm also editing Shopaholic. I'm making the chapters longer.

Parted Rivers now has four parts!  I'm so proud of myself. I've fallen in love with that book!  I can really relate to Siri.

Chapter 25 will be a juicy storytime ! Stay tuned.

Stay safe guys, and remember that you are so beautiful and worth the struggle. Don't let anybody try to lead you astray from your true talent, love.

I hope that everybody was safe during the hurricane. I pray that the people who were effected find peace and harmony.
