Petty squabbles and childish fight were all that came in the next couple of days. As the groups resentment grew for one another the real reason  for the fall out was long forgotten, buried underneath the stupid comments and harsh words they had for each other . Alec and Jace's s inseparable bond, broken. Simon and Clary's relationship up in flames. But maybe all that was needed was a little gesture after things had settled down. Maybe all they needed was a little reminder of who they used to be...

Clary scuttled hurriedly down the hall, her arms filled with books and over-due homework. She had finally made peace with the fact that Simon hated her, well as much as a person could when their best connection is severed. Finally she was a in a good place, a place she was dying to be. Clary thought back to last night, being snuggled into Jace's chest. His touch, his heat, his embrace. Distracted, Clary didn't see the piece of math homework that had fallen on the floor. As she placed her foot forward to take another step, she slipped, falling face first over it.  Simon who was walking  a far bit behind, notice her fall, racing to her rescue. In that moment Simon forgot all of the drama and animosity; all he knew was his best friend was hurting and she needed him. "How couldn't i have seen that before?" He cursed himself.

He pulled Clary to her feet collecting her work as he did.
"Simon,"Clary gasped, "Thank you," she only said, no more apologies, no more explanations. A fresh start.
"I've always got your back Fray!" Simon grinned and skipped off. And just like that their friendship restored.

Across the school Jace was having a lot less luck with winning back Alec "Alec please just talk to me. I... I'm worried about you," Jace pleaded desperately for the like 10th time. Alec turned around, his eyes red and blotchy "He left me Jace," Alec barely y choked out. Still hurt about Jace's betrayal but his pain over Magnus superseded his anger towards Jace. He needed his best friend.

"Oh Alec," Jace sighed, pulling him in for a hug. Alec cried softly into Jace's shoulder. "Im sorry, Jace. For being a dick... can we start over?" Alec said after he'd got himself together. "Don't sweat it," Jace smirked, he could never be mad at Alec.
"Now, how are we getting Magnus back?" Jace began.
