Doctor's Order

Chapter 57

They arrived at the beach resort around afternoon. Richard initially reserved a one bedroom villa but with his family joining them, he changed it to a four-room villa. One room for his parents, one for Sebastian and his nanny, one for Maine and the other one for him.

The whole Faulkerson family together with Maine had a nice afternoon. Richard, Maine and Sebastian were at the seashore until late afternoon and just bonded together. After spending the whole afternoon at the beach, they returned to their villa to prepare for dinner. Maine was able to clean up ahead of time and decided to go and check on Sebastian if he's ready. As she entered the room she heard that Sebastian is still inside the comfort room so she went to his luggage to prepare Sebastian's clothes. She already opened the luggage and emptied its contents when she noticed that the luggage's pocket seems to have other content. She reached for the pocket and started unzipping it.

Richard was in a hurry to get dressed. He still haven't retrieved the ring from Sebastian's luggage. He wanted to get hold of it as soon as possible before Sebastian or much worse Maine sees it. He walked out of his room and saw his parents sitting on the living room.

"Mom, where's Maine?" Richard asked his mother.

"I don't know. I just stepped out from our room." Rose answered.

"Dad? Have you seen Maine?" Richard turned to his father.

"Yes. She went to Sebastian's room to check on your son. She said she wanted to dress him herself." Richard Sr. said nonchalantly.

"What?!" Richard asked with a panic.

"Maine is in Sebastian's room." His father repeated.

Like the Flash, Richard quickly ran towards Sebastian's room and opened the door.

"Maine! I can explain!" Richard said too loudly.

Maine was about to reach inside the pocket of the luggage when the door opened.

"Maine! I can explain!"

Maine heard Richard's voice behind her. She turned around and saw Richard all red and trying to catch his breath. "Love? Are you okay?" Maine asked with a worried look.

"W-wait, I can ex-plain this." Richard said while huffing and puffing as he approached Maine.

Maine held Richard's face once he stood in front of her and asked in a confused look. "Explain what?"

Richard focused his eyes on Maine's face and realized that Maine haven't seen the box yet.

"Love, what are you saying that you can explain?" Maine again asked.

"Ummmm..." Richard tried to stall Maine as he thinks of an alibi.

"Mommy!" Sebastian squealed as he goes out of the comfort room. The child immediately run towards the two which caused him to slip.

"Oh my God! Sebastian!!!" Maine half shouted.

Maine immediately went to pick up Sebastian from the floor. Richard on the other took that opportunity to get the box from Sebastian's luggage. Once he got hold of it, he immediately placed in inside his pocket. Then he immediately went to Maine and Sebastian's side. "Baby, are you okay?" he asked.

It's a good thing that the area where Sebastian fell is carpeted, which helped cautioned his fall. "I'm okay Dad." Sebastian answered with a huge smile.

"Sebastian, baby don't do that again okay?" Maine said. "Don't go about and run when you come out of the comfort room. You might get into an accident."

Sebastian nodded and smiled at Maine. "Yes, Mommy. I'm sorry." The child then turned to Richard and said, "I'm sorry Daddy. I won't do it again." He then enclosed both Maine and Richard on a tight hug.
