Blocking the sun's illuminating heat from my face, I quickly wipe the small amount of sweat that was most likely beaming off of my forehead while standing here with D in the same small room we were in about a week ago. Extremely anxious about the results we may or may not be satisfied with, we came extremely early returning back the day we were both told to. During the days we were waiting, we've been slowly coming around to each other and hanging out, but things were very quiet. Very quiet and it's noticeable to why. Most would think because after all we've experienced together but I disagree. Whenever we find our way back to each other, we never talk about the things that occured in the past, only skipping over it like it never happened. I'm not sure whether that's good idea or not because some boundaries aren't set structurely but it works for us. Though it seems to work for us, again it's beem very quiet. D and I would attempt to crack a few jokes with each other or initiate entertaining conversations but they wouldn't last long with the constant reminder of our lives possibly being ruined.

"You two", with the two of us snapping our head towards the woman being the only people in here, she catches our attention, "results are ready." Averting our eyes to each other's, we seem to be caught in a daze with the A.M radio tackling daily news until she clears her throat bringing us back into reality.

"Oh", D clears his throat nervously, awkwardly smiling at the heavy set woman up front, "uh, sorry about that. We coming." Using the arm rests to push my body up, I raise my eyebrows at her blunt nature. She barely said anything and I can tell she's rude.

Following his lead, I nervously stand behind him softly grabbing onto the bottom part of his shirt like a lost puppy. Peeking at what was going on, I see her handing him a half weighty envelope with a second one being set out next to it while mumbling is being exchanged between the two. Curling his two pairs of his crooked fingers to grab onto the folder, he faces me. "You have to get your own, she says."

Nodding, I quickly snatch the envelope from the counter then jogging to catch up to his long legs. We exit the building meeting the sunshine again, radiating more light than it did in the nearly empty building we were in. Entering the car his dad got him sometime we were seperated, neither of us hesitate to tear the thick papers to shreds to get to the one thing we've been waiting for all week. Sitting to myself, I shift my body in his direction observing him as his eyes start to scan across the paper at an expeditious speed. His bright holes finally land in one spot with his whole body tensing up appearing to be frozen. My heart drops at the sight of him wondering what the test results are. My mouth falls agape and before I try to reach over to discover his results, he snatches the paper away from me moving the paper towards his face more squinting in what in seems like disbelief.

"What are the results?" My hand falls onto his arm in fear. Feeling the creases in my forehead form at him not responding to me, the heat starts getting to me again. Swallowing deeply, I take a quick glance at the sky noticing that the birds are flying around in a stablized pack. "D, what does the the paper say?" I repeat my question, this time being with much more urgency and irration. The shaking knot in my throat prevents me from breathing correctly with only heavy exhales deriving from me.

Assuming the worst for both of us, I bite my lip nervously. If he has it, then that means I'll have it too. It doesn't make sense for me not to have when I was the one getting rawed by someone else who could have it also. Who would die first between us? I know we had a mini debate about who would go first between the two of us but it was simply a joke and had nothing to do with this situation. I didn't mean any of that at all.

"I don't have it." He removes the paper from his face with a cheeky grin, his eye nearly closing as the small dents and lines in his face showcases that he's joyful. Gasping at his words, I gently hit him for acting as if he did have it. "Why did you do all that for then?" I frown my face as I playfully speak, though deep down I'm upset he actually toyed with my feelings like that. "This is no time to be joking like that, D. You fucking scared me." Feeling myself gaining an attitude, I sigh loudly before reluctantly peering my eyes on my paper in my lap.
