Ifeoma trudged forward, meandering her way through the huge crowd of students that made their way outside the school gate. As she walked swiftly, she tried to wrap her head around all the scenes that had played on so far on her first day of school.

One scene that she just couldn't understand was the last one that she, Kemi and her group acted. She remembered the question she asked clearly. To her it was an important and reasonable question, but all she had received in return was laughter and mockery. It was going great with the girls at first but it all went downhill when she asked the question that could not be more wrong to them.

"What do boyfriends do?" Ifeoma had asked.

Three pairs of brown eyes blinked back at her and the faces that held those eyes, were unbelievable expressions. Some were of shock while another was of disbelief.

"What do boyfriends do?" Kemi repeated.

"Yes what do they do?" Ifeoma asked quite confidently.

Kemi stared at her then turned back to her friends who in turn shook their heads like an abomination had been committed. A minute passed and they were still staring at her in shock. Then suddenly they burst into hysterical laughter.

"W...what happened?" Ifeoma asked, feeling a little bit embarrassed. All her confidence had melted away like ice cream left in the sun to give way for a bucketload of shame and embarrassment. She didn't know what was making her feel so embarrassed, but watching the girls roll on the floor laughing made her think that her question was the most foolish question of the century.

"That has to be the most stupid question ever." Kemi commented in between fits of laughter while the other girls nodded their head vigorously in agreement to what she said.

"I no fit laugh again." Grace announced, clutching her stomach.

"Shey bi? Me too. I wan die for here."

"Abeg make we go buy somethings wey we go chop." Kemi said then looked up at the clock on the wall. It was a few minutes to 12. Not enough for them to go downstairs, buy whatever they wanted and still come to class early. "Time don already go o, but na e better for us. Make we go now so that we go miss part of that stupid Maths teacher class."

"Correct. Oya make we dey go." Joy said at last and they marched out of the class.

"Ify!!" A voice called out. Ifeoma knew that voice. It was the voice of the same person she had been trying to avoid since the beginning of the day. She groaned inwardly as her analysing of her situation with Kemi and her squad had been interrupted.

"Ifeoma!" The voice called again, way more louder than before, causing Ifeoma to turn around. An arm slung around her shoulders and she gasped out loud.
