The whole world seemed to be blurred in Ifeoma's eyes. She was seeing everything in a haze. She felt like fainting but she remembered what Jeffery had told her. She couldn't pass out, at least not now. He wanted her out of the park and at sitting on the chair in front of the 'Mountain of fire' church.

After struggling to get to the church, while fighting the urge to drop dead, (if too strong of a word) or drop fainted. Ifeoma finally arrived at the bench of life. For now it was a safe haven for her. She hoped Jeffery would be okay as she hugged his bag and ignored hers' which she kept on the bench beside her.

More than five minutes passed but Jeffery was nowhere to be found. Ifeoma started fidgeting while sitting down alone on the bench. She couldn't imagine how many things could have gone wrong with Jeffery while he was with those scary men. Deep inside her heart she knew she was the cause of everything and if anything bad happened to him, she wouldn't be able to forgive herself. God how she feared the worst.

"Jeffery where are you?" Ifeoma muttered silently. She was itching to go back and help him in any way she could.

"Ify!" A voice croaked out loudly.

"Oh my gosh! Jeffery!" Ifeoma screamed. "What did they do to you?" She cried again.

"Nothing." He groaned and sat beside her. He was holding his ribs and his bottom lip was cut and bleeding in the middle. "I think my ankle is dislocated."

"Jesus!" Ifeoma exclaimed. "We have to get you to your house now. Come I'll help you. I'm not sure I can even go home like this. My aunt will kill me." She said while trying as hard as possible to avoid looking at his bleeding lip.

"Wait." Jeffery said as loud as he could. "Give me a second." Ifeoma watched as he reached into his bag and brought out a face cap. He put one on his head then brought another cap and placed it on her head.

"Why?" Ifeoma asked, placing the cap well on her head.

"I don't want you to see the blood on my lip and I don't want you to get any darker because we have a long way to go." Ifeoma gulped at the sound of the word 'blood' but nodded her head in agreement when he was done with talking.

Heaving Jeffery's hand over her shoulder, Ifeoma felt his weight leaning heavily on her shoulder but she couldn't say anything even if she wanted to. It was all her fault after all.

As they walked, Ifeoma noticed some more bruises on Jeffery's body. It was amazing as to how he could still move with all the bruises on his body. And although he was limping, Ifeoma could tell he was very strong.
