"Jeffery what do you think you are doing?" Ifeoma shouted as she caught him slacking off on his duties. His chin rested on his chest with both his hands holding a broom and a packer. Soft snores drifted out of his mouth. "Jeffery!" She shouted even louder.

"Ah! Ah! What did I do?" He asked as he jerked up quickly and into standing position–the broom and packer falling out of his hands.

"I can't believe you Jeffery." Ifeoma shook her head at him. "Just this small work and you are already tired. Shame on you."

"I'm sorry." Jeffery apologised as he scratched the back of his head. "I know I only washed plates..."

"Which I also rewashed."

"Yes. Which you made sure to wash again as they were not in anyway clean, but I don't know why I feel so tired. You girls dey try o. In fact over try. Imagine you people will do everything in the house and still do the one men are suppose to do. Abeg e. Men don't do much compared to all of you. Una be correct people." Jeffery admitted as he lay down on the sofa; curling up into a small ball.

Ifeoma knew he was just praising women so he could get some time to go back to sleeping. He was supposed to sweep the living room at first, but now Ifeoma had to do it herself. All because of his laziness.

Picking up the packer and broom Jeffery threw on the floor, Ifeoma headed for dining table. She was going to sweep from the dining table to the living room so she didn't have to go back again.

"Well done o." Grace said as she crossed over the dirt Ifeoma was sweeping.

"Yes o, well doing." Joy added as she did same as Joy, except that she took along some dust with her which she trailed on the floor with her heels.

"Ehn thank you." Ifeoma said absentmindedly. Her mind wasn't on the fact that they were greeting her but rather on the situation that she would have to re-sweep the places they had stepped on. The camel's back was broken when Joy returned back to take something in her room then crossed over again.

"Are you serious?" Ifeoma seethed quietly. In her opinion their movement was totally unnecessary. But no, they just had to go meet with men—stomping around in their stupid heels to God knows where.

Cleaning did not take much time as Ifeoma was done in a jiffy. She walked over to the sofa where the lazy man was sleeping. "Jeffery get up." She said slowly while kicking his legs. "Come on! Get up."

"Hey babe." He said as soon as he raised his head to look at her.

"You have to start going home Jeffery. Especially as you don't have anything else to do here."

"I know that. But can I please have a taste of your wonderful food?" He pleaded.

"My boyfriend will be the death of me someday." Ifeoma groaned.
