"Who is he?" Jeffery repeated again while Ifeoma remained mute with a tired look on her face.

"He's just a friend." Ifeoma stated in a matter-of-fact tone.

"I hope he feels the same way." Jeffery deadpanned.

The Sun felt suddenly harsher and brighter, scorching the back of poor Ifeoma. She wasn't sure the sun was same on Jeffery. The assault could have been more on her because of the sins she had committed as everyone, even the Sun knew her feelings for Javier were wrong. The air like it had signed a contract with the Sun was hot and humid, standing still at a time when it was supposed to make waves in order to reach its twin–the sweet wind.

If Ifeoma said she didn't feel guilty, then she would have been a big liar. A huge cloud of guilt hung over her head, so gigantic that she found herself covered in a fog of shame. Her words and emotions hung painfully in her throat choking her silently as she tried to sort out her feelings. It was all because of the two men–whom she had had to choose from. Jeffery and Javier.

"We're here." Jeffery announced as they arrived at a hotel. Ifeoma raised her head to take in her surroundings. She had been so lost in her thoughts, and Jeffery hadn't bothered uttering a single word to her that she didn't even notice that they weren't heading back to the girls.

"Where are we and what are we doing here?" Ifeoma asked as she stared at the crooked sign that read 'Jacob's Royal Hotel.'

"We are at my uncle's hotel." Jeffery said simply and headed into the hotel, holding the door open for her to go in. "Uncle Dave." He smiled as he gave a quick hug to a tall, bulky man.

"Jeffery. My little man's already grown now." He grinned as his voice boomed through the empty halls.

"Uncle you are just exaggerating. Didn't we see just about six months ago before you went back to Australia?"

"Ah. But that's a lot of time for so much to happen and more to change lad." He piped. "Who's the lovely lady?" He added way more quietly—almost in a whisper.

"My girlfriend." Jeffery continued in the same quiet tone.

"Hmm. This is almost unbelievable. What came over you lad? Got shot by Cupid?"

"I guess so uncle." Jeffery said as he sighed deeply.

"She's a gorgeous one, isn't she?"

"Drop dead gorgeous." Jeffery grinned at his uncle. He couldn't be more proud of his girl than he was right now. "Uncle." Jeffery turned back to him. "I need a big favour."

"So this is gonna be your room. Anything you need make sure to give me a ring or ask any of the attendants." Dave said, smiling at Ifeoma.
