You had to deliver the wool you promised to Lynn, pick up some ingredients for dinner, Get some yarn for your Gran and if you had time after that, take Inui to the bakery.
This would take you about two or three hours on a normal day. However, this was not a normal day.
The mayhem from the prince being here had barely subsided at all.People kept bumping into you, but what irritated you is that Inui was getting pushed around in the chaos. The poor boy was holding onto your shirt so tightly you thought it would rip.
Needless to say, you were relieved when you got to Lynn’s house.
The first thing she did was pull the two of you inside.
The second thing she did was scoop Inui up into a big hug. He giggled sweetly and hugged her back.
“Good to see ya’ fluff ball.” She said, still hugging him. Though Inui certainly wasn't complaining. You set the bag of wool next to Lynn’s couch.
“Would it be okay if he stayed here while I run a few errands?” You ask, already knowing the answer.
The two of them were now sitting in her reclining chair together.
Lynn put her hand to her chin as if she were in thought “Weeeell, if you have’ta.” She jokes.
You smile and wave goodbye to them as you leave.
Back into the chaos. You had already gone home earlier to put up the food you had bought, since it was too much to carry while you did your other errands.
Since it was getting colder out, your granny wanted some yarn so she could crochet some blankets, scarves, hats, socks, etc.
However, she didn't specify how much she wanted. Though you could assume that she would need quite a lot of it.Carol made Yarn, and would always trade you some for your special restful tea, as she had terrible insomnia due to her ptsd. She is the only non-magical person who lives in the village, as she was a runaway slave from Khasm, a terrifying and brutal kingdom in the north.
She is a very sweet woman. though she is skittish And easily scared, Carol says that she feels safer and more at ease living in the village then she has her entire life.
Her face always looks tired and worn due to her hard past. You knocked on her door and stood patiently for her to undo her locks. Opening the door, she smiled warmly and invited you inside.
Her home was so comfortable. When she came, everyone pulled together to get her furniture and clothing. It was almost like the villages hospitality had all culminated in her home, giving it a welcoming air.
You sat down on her couch as Carol grabbed baskets of Yarn and set them out. You placed the ceramic tea jar you had been carrying onto the table.
“I made it a bit stronger this time, I hope it still tastes alright.”She picks up the jar and smiles.
“I’m sure it will taste fine. But if it doesn't, nothing a bit of honey can't fix.”You look at the yarn she had.
There were so many colors, and some of them looked so soft.“You can stay for a while if you like, it's such chaos out there” She said, sitting in her chair.
