Its taken a while of walking, holding your breath when passing each and every guard, for fear of being noticed, but now the main road is in sight.
Not only that, but you've seen neither head nor tail of the Queen.

Unintentionally picking up your pace, you walk towards the road. You couldn't stand to stay in this kingdom for even a moment longer then absolutely necessary.
Now closer, you can see just how packed the main road is.
There's the obvious daily route of the people that any main road would see. But there's also plenty more. Highly decorated carriages, individuals who look very foreign to this kingdom, obvious royalty walking with guards.
Taking a deep breath, you step into the crowd.

You've never really had to deal with being in a large horde of people before. But thankfully everybody else seems accustomed, and you've yet to bump into anybody.
You finally spot the sign that you've been looking for.
"Carol street" in big white letters.
You can't help but smile as your eyes land on the alley between two businesses.
That must be the place.

Feeling triumphant as you near your escape, you turn your head to look at the castle one last time.
Only two things stick out to you, the large front doors opening, and the Queen standing at the balcony just above it.
You scowl at the woman, now free to do so without fear.
But it seems your crowd maneuvering luck had run out. Just as you turn back around to face your destination, you collide with somebody.
They were quite the sturdy individual as well. They barely seemed to react at all other then a small grunt upon impact. While you, on the other hand, fell back and landed on your rear end.
You let out a small apology as you glance up at the tall figure. If looks could kill, you'd be dead on the spot.
He glared at you in disgust and hatred, as if at any moment he'd simply step on you.
His red eyes burned with fury as he spoke.
"Watch where you're going, rat!" He had a slight accent, one that you didn't recognize.
You stuttered, not sure how to respond. Thankfully, There was no need.
"Brother! Please, leave the poor thing alone!" Another figure enters your line of sight, quickly rounding the other man.
Though, you'd have thought they were the same person if it weren't for their expressions and voices.
The new arrival holds out his hand for you, which you oblige in taking.
He helps you up and wipes off your back.
The angry brother scoffs and passes you, harshly impacting your shoulder as he does.

The man in front of you sighs as he watches the other leave. His eyes are gentle in comparison, though still holding the same red color.
His chestnut hair is tied up in a rather feminine braid. Though it does look nice on him.
He turns back to you and smiles apologetically.
"I'm sorry about him, he gets cranky at social events."
Before you can respond, he starts chasing after the other man.
"Kurt, wait!" He calls out to his brother.
You stare at the scene for only a moment before turning back to your task.
What a strange pair

You can't help it anymore, you start to run as you round the corner. A new pep in your step as you speed down the alley.
You can hear a few people talking as you get closer to what you assume is your destination. After all, who else would be down here?
You call out as you arrive.
"Domi, I-!"
Quickly rounding the corner, bag in hand, you stop in your tracks.

No way, right?

Your body locks up and won't listen to you.

There's no way that this..

Your heart races painfully in your chest.

Could happen..

Your stomach twists and churns up in knots.

Right..?

Your eyes only fixate on one thing.

Blood.

Everywhere.

Your mind reels so harshly that you almost miss the fast approaching footsteps from behind you.
Stumbling to your senses, you clumsily tumble into the bloodied carriage to hide.
Your hand shoots up to cover your mouth. The poor old woman sat across from you, bloodied and beaten to death.
You dont have time to think on it as the footsteps halt where you were mere seconds ago.

"You're certain it was her?"
That voice is.. Prince Ace..
"I wouldn't have told you if I wasn't."
Who..?
No, it doesn't matter.
You didn't see Domi amongst the bodies on the ground outside. That means that there's still a chance you can find him.
If you can find him, you can keep each other safe. Then maybe you'll still have a chance to finally get home.
You decide to make a run for it and reach for the handle on the door.
But before you can do anything, it swings open, a guard calling out as he spots you. "She's inside!"
You stumble to the other side, shoving the door open only to tumble out right as two armed men round the sides of the carriage.
You bring yourself to your feet and start to charge off, only manage a few feet before an arm wrap around your waist and raises you off of the ground. You unintentionally drop your bag as you struggle and kick, hitting the mans back and helmet with whatever might you can muster.
You're not even sure what you're saying anymore, anger and panic spilling out through words.
At this point you can't tell if you're threatening them or begging to be let go.

The guard holding you sets you on your feet in front of the Prince. As soon as your feet touch the ground, you try and run again. But before you can even fully turn around, both of your arms have been restrained by two men on either side of you.
Realizing how fruitless your efforts of escape are, you resort to simply glaring at the Prince.
Who, to your irritation, smiles lovingly in return.

Behind him are the two twins you ran into before. The fearsome one now smiling maliciously while the other seems just as he was before, unfazed by the brutal scene around you.
"You gave me quite the scare (Y/N)." The Prince says, bringing your eyes back onto him.
"When you snuck away, I began to panic. Thankfully a few soldiers had seen you, or I may have been wor-"
"What did you do?"
You don't care about how worried he was.
"Hm?" he hums.
"I didn't do anything."

"Where is my brother?!" You scream, resuming your pointless struggling.
Ace sighs.
"(Y/N)."
His voice is upsettingly calm.
Your eyes start to tear up and your arms hurt from the tight grip they're being held in.
"(Y/N).. Stop that. Everything will be fine. If you'd just listened to me you wouldn't be so upset now.."
If your mouth weren't so dry right now, you'd be tempted to spit at him.
He's talking to you like you're a misbehaving child.
Your voice acts on its own, scolding and laced with venom.
"I hate you Ace."

And just as the words escape your lips, his hand whips over the left side of your face, leaving a sharp burning pain in its wake.
