Desperation

That's way more than just "Lonely"

All of a sudden you hear a small knock at the door.
"Yeah?" You ask nervously.
You hear the Princes voice on the other side "(Y/N) I can explain, just-"
You notice the doorknob start to turn and instinctively grab it and pull it to keep the door shut.
"Its not what you think I swear!" He shouts, pulling at the door. "I was just checking that your clothing smelled nice! I mean- that they were properly clean and all that! I swear I'm not a pervert!" He explains frantically as he attempts to get the door open.

You try and joke a little bit.

"I didn't think you had bury your face in them to figure out if they're clea-" You lose your grip and he yanks the door open, you duck behind the bathtub as he enters the room.
"O-okay, so maybe that wasn't the only reason, but its not sexual! I swear!"
He walks towards you, but you keep the bathtub between the two of you no matter where he goes.
"I just- I was feeling kind of nervous, I-I mean I can usually internalize it but- well- Your home is really comforting, so I thought the smell-"
You're now positioned so that you're close to the door, and he's on the opposite side of the tub. You use the opportunity to dart out of the bathroom.
"Wait-!" You hear him call out.

You had barely gotten halfway across your ridiculously large room, when Ace grabs you. his intention was to stop you but the momentum sent both of you into the floor.
You struggle around for a while on the floor, he's wrapped his arms around you in an awkward position, stopping you from getting back up.
One trick you learned from Playing with Domi when you were young, is that if you can cover their eyes, their first reaction is to try and regain they're sight. Domi always let go, but Porri would only move his head away, but it distracted him enough for you to wiggle out.

You reach back and cover his face to the best of your abilities.
Just as planned, he turned his face away. But what you didn't expect was that his grip tightened on you at the same time.
"I am not a pervert!" He says as he continues to move away from your hand.

"Your Highness?"
You hear from the doorway.
"Grimm!" You shout for the butler. He looks at the two of you with confusion.
"Am I interrupting?.." He asks, taking a step back.
"No!" You tell him, still struggling for freedom, but The Prince doesn't budge.

"Grimm, she's being mean!" Ace whinned, taking you off guard. Grimm wore a forced comforting smile. "Is she? I'm sure she doesn't mean anything by it." He says, approaching the Prince. The butler rests his hand on Ace's back in a comforting gesture.
"She called me a pervert!"
Grimm looks at you inquisitively.
"I didn't" You tell him truthfully "I never said that!" From behind, you hear Ace grumble.

"Your highness, have you perhaps not taken your.."
The Princes grip tightens and he mumbles under his breath. "No.."
"Then why don't we let Ms.(L/N) settle in for bed while we go take care of that?" Ace slowly let's go of you, taking Grimms hand.

"I'm very sorry (Y/N), go ahead and get to bed." He smiles at you, leading the Prince out of the room.
Once he closed the door, you sat there in the floor for a bit, thinking about what happened.

In the end, you decided that it would be a good idea to get some sleep like Grimm suggested. You were confused and still felt unnerved by the Princes behavior, but you likely need some rest for whatever happens tomorrow.
