You take the box holding the Cradles and the other one with the fairy trinkets and take them outside to the garden.
It was fairly dark outside right now, and you had to take careful steps on the uneven ground. It was difficult to find a good spot to place them, where they wouldn't be disturbed till you went back home.

Rounding the poor over-trimmed bushes, you saw a few trees. Approaching them, you saw that one of them had a hollow spot.
Perfect!
Setting down both of the boxes that were occupying your hands, you check out the tree. running your hands down the bark, you noticed that it was quite brittle. You'd have to treat this tree with special care in the following days.
You open up the jewelry box full of fairy trinkets, looking them over. It had been a long time since you had been in contact with a fairy nursery, so you weren't entirely sure how to set it up.
You took some coins first and placed them into the hollow space, followed by a couple of gems against the walls of the hole.
You distinctly remember that they hung gems over the cradles as well, but they were larger then these. Maybe you could find some at a shop in the kingdom? For now though, this would do just fine.
You take out the Cradles and set each one in as gently as possible. Noticing that there may not be enough space, you set the others back into the box and try to rearrange the ones already inside the tree.

It was getting to be a bit frustrating, you didn't want to just put them in there haphazardly. You can't place them on top of each other unless there is no light, and the opening to this couldn't be blocked off in any non-suspicious looking way.
You sigh, lowering your head in defeat.

"(Y/N)?" A voice said behind you, making you flinch in surprise.
Turning, you saw Prince Ace standing there with a curious expression.
"Y-Your highness, what are you doing out here?" Your voice shook slightly as you spoke.
"You weren't in your quarters, and this was the only other place that I could think of to find you.." He redirects his gaze towards the tree.
"What are you doing out here?"
His question made you nervous for some reason. You didn't know why, but there was an intense feeling that you should keep this a secret.
"Just checking up on the garden before bed is all." You say, putting on a small smile.
He smiles at you, but it almost seems a little smug. He shakes his head.
"You really shouldn't lie to me, I've been watching you from back here for a while now."
Oh no.
"You were pretty wrapped up in what you were doing. You didn't even notice me."
He walks over and picks up a Cradle. "So what are these?" He asks, holding up the pine needle Cradle and inspecting it.
"Please be gentle with them!" You say, accidentally raising your voice. He stops and looks at you for a second before setting it gently back into the box.
"So they're fragile and important.."
He mumbles.
"They're fairy cradles. Kind of like-"
"Fairies?!" The Prince cuts you off excitedly. "So they're like eggs? Fairy eggs?"
A bit taken a back, you mumble out.
"Yeah, sort of. The outer part will smoothen and turn into their wings."
He picks another one up, making your heart drop. He stands up and sets it into the hole in the tree.
"Ah, wait, they can't be on top of each other." You say, about to stop him.
He pushes away your hand and starts fiddling with them, making you start to panic.
"Wait, stop, don't-" "Hand me another, I have more space now." He demands, holding out his hand.
Huh? How did he arrange it..?
You hand him another and try to look into the tree, but his frame blocks your view.

This went on for a few more minutes before all of the cradles were inside. Once he stepped back you immediately checked it to make sure that none of them were on top of each other. They weren't. It was all set up perfectly.
Surprised, you turn around to look at him. He was smiling at you proudly.
You smiled back and abruptly hugged him, taking him off guard.
You couldn't see it, but his face changed 30 shades redder as he returned the hug.

"I'm sure you must be tired." he states, clearing his throat. He hadn't let go of the hug yet.
"We should head to bed, don't want to sleep in tomorrow." He releases the hug and takes your hand, leading you towards the door.

Stepping back inside, you were immediately met with a voice.
"Awe, and what were you two up to out there?" You knew that syrup coated voice.
"Oh, mother. Just taking a night walk through the garden." He gently takes hold of your hand. "(Y/N) was telling me about all of the plans she has for improving the garden."
The queen placed her hand on her cheek. "I look forward to seeing it! I'm sure you'll do wonders for it." She walks up to you and hugs you. "Good luck sweety." She said loud enough for her son to hear before whispering bitterly into your ear.
"Don't forget your real job, green."
She pulled away from the hug and turned to her son, kissing his cheek.
"You get to bed love." She says as she walks away.
"Goodnight, mother." The Prince calls to her. He turns to you and smiles.
"We really should get to sleep."
