Soup and sharing.

Entering the kitchen, you're displeased to find that somebody left a window open, the cold night air seeping in.
Upon closing the window, you seat the Prince down in a nearby chair.
He's still rather cold, and his shivering hasn't ceased, though he did seem a bit more comfortable at least.
You place a few logs into the stove, letting the fire rise. Hopefully this would not only help you cook some soup for him, but also warm the room itself.
Looking around at the ingredients available, you decide to make Grannies savory pumpkin soup, perfect for the changing season.

You were unable to find a small pot, so you used one that was rather large for the amount you wanted to make.
As you cut up the ingredients, the water boils on the stove. While at work, you turn to look at the Prince, who meets your gaze smiles, causing you to blush slightly.
He's spoiled and bratty, but he has his moments..

Sliding the necessary ingredients off of the cutting board and into the pot, you could already tell that you likely made too much.
Sighing, you set down the cutting board before turning to the Prince. He flinches slightly as you take his hand in yours.
Even though he's no longer shivering, he's still so cold to the touch.
Out of habit, likely from caring for your brothers, you wrap his hand in both of yours, and blow warm breaths between your hands.
Once his hand felt a bit less cold, you let go and looked up at Ace, who's face was three different shades of red.
Feeling embarrassed, you chuckle and look away. "I wonder if the soups ready.." You mumble before walking away.

Looking at the soup, you could tell it was about time to start mixing. Mixing a thicker soup was always a pain, but the outcome is worth it.
"It smells good." You hear the Prince. Peeking over your shoulder at him, you smile at his somewhat excited expression. "Its a recipe that granny taught me!" You said, slightly proud of your lineage.

Not long later, the door to the kitchen opens.
"(Y/N)?" Asks the familiar brunette.
"Oh, hi Grimm. I hope its okay that I use the kitchen.." You were a bit worried that he would disapprove, but he waves off your concern.
"Not at all, you technically work here, after all." He says with a smile. Just then, he notices the Prince sitting at the table.
"Your Highness-" He says, but was interrupted.
"Everything's fine, (Y/N) and I finished our lesson and got hungry."
Of course Grimm knew that wasn't the case, as he had made us sandwiches just before we started.
Regardless, he smiled and asked if he could stay with us for the time being.
"Sure, I made too much soup anyway.." You say, a bit embarrassed.

After a bit more stirring, you managed to get it nice and smooth.
After a quick taste test, you were satisfied with what you made, and ladeled some into the bowls you had set out.
"Sorry for the wait.." You say, setting down two bowls for the boys before turning back to pick up your own. Returning to the table, you see that the Prince is already eating, and seems to be enjoying it at that. You smile as you sit down.
"Is it good?" You ask, to which the Prince nods, not willing to stop eating to speak.
You see that Grimm hasn't tried it yet, you were going to ask him why, but he already knew what you were going to say.
"Its just a bit too hot for me, I'll wait till it cools a little. It smells delicious though!" The compliment made you happy.
Taking a spoonful of your soup, the flavor finally hits you. It was better then you thought it would be. Just as you took another bite, the door opened again.
It was two maids.
"Whoa, what is that scent?" One of them remarks as she steps into the kitchen. The other is already at the pot in seconds.
"I told you I could smell something!" She says as she leans over the pot and smells the contents. The one at the pot seemed like the more cheerful one of the two.
"Its pumpkin." You speak up, alerting the two to your presence.
They turn to you, and upon seeing the Prince, they both bow in unison, each giving a respectful greeting.

The Prince doesn't seem to pay the two of them any mind.
You offer them some, which they except, one far more excited then the other.
Grimms soup was finally cool enough for him now. Taking a sip, he said he enjoyed it, the other two agreeing.
Just then, the Prince yawned.
It is fairly late.
You think to yourself.
Finishing off the last of your soup, you speak up.
"I think I'm about ready to head to bed, goodnight." Standing up, you hear the Prince follow after. "I'll be going too. I have business to attend to in the morning."

Your rooms are on opposite ends of this hall, so once the two of you are out of the kitchen, he turns to you.
"I.. Apologize.. I cut our lesson short, and you seemed very excited." You could tell that he was being sincere. A smile graces you features "Not at all, we can always try again. Next time, though, you should wear a coat." You chuckle.
Seeing you happy, he smiles.
Though there is something behind his eyes that you can't quite pinpoint.
Your thoughts are interrupted as he leans forward and plants a small kiss on your forehead.
"Goodnight." His voice is gentle.
"Go-Goodnight, Prince Ace."
He smiles and turns, walking off to his quarters.

Your cheeks are warm.
As you enter your room, you pat them, trying to disperse the temperature.
He's becoming difficult to read..
You shake your head, trying not to think about it. Its fine, you're his teacher, after all. Surely its just some kind of Nadrous custom..

Slinking off to your bed, you curl up beneath the sheets. The festival will be here soon. Are you ready? you don't feel like you are.
The pond is still murky, the trees have brittle bark, the flowers you've planted need to bloom, the gemstones need to be put in place.. You have a lot of work to do. Did you bite off more then you can chew?
Without having thought about, you accepted a task that you may not have been prepared for..

|(A/N): Hope this is alright! I thought it may be a bit boring, but I wanted to have a calm part. I hope it wasn't bad..|
