"Hey, come on, wake up!"
You grumble, shifting in your sleep, the short grass poking the side of your face.
"Master (Y/N)! Get up already!"
The young voice whined."Hn?" You mumbled as you lift your head slightly off the ground, eyes still too tired to open.
You put your hand on the ground to push yourself up, feeling the grass between your fingers.Grass..?
You force your eyes to open, greeted by the blurry green beneath you.
I'm outside?
Glancing up, you see that you're in a wooded area. But not the garden.
Where am I?"Master (Y/N)? You're awake!" A cheerful voice calls from beside you.
Locating the source of the voice, you see a little boy.
A little boy.. Dressed in strange clothing. And is he surrounded in fog? You can't tell."Who are you?" You ask, in a tired voice.
"I'm Suzureoki" The little boy says proudly "Suzureoki the Baku!"
"Baku..?" You ask, not entirely sure what that is.
"Yep! A Baku! I'm pretty special~"
Well, that didn't explain anything..
after his gloat, his eyes widen as though he's just remembered something.
"Oh!" He stands up, putting his hands on his hips."I'm here to be your guide!"
"Guide..?" You question.
"Well, kinda. More like a companion? Either way, I'm gonna get you out of the troublesome situation thats coming in the next few days!" Before letting you speak, he starts up again.
"So, first things first, you can call me Suzu! Second, you need to get out of this castle.""Why?" You ask "Why do I need to leave now?"
Even though you don't feel the best here, how are you supposed to get out of the kingdom? Let alone all the way back home..
He sighs deeply and plops his butt back onto the grass. "Fine, I'll explain. But we gotta be quick, this dream can't last forever."
You straighten up and face him."Tomorrow, as soon as you wake up- Leave the castle! Don't worry about your clothes, the cradles, but do put your shoes on."
Walk out in your night clothes?
"After that, just walk out onto the big main road, you'll see somebody familiar. You'll have to come back to pack a bag and sneak out tomorrow night. But if you don't find them in the morning, you have no chance of ever leaving."You sigh "Can you explain a little more, please?"
Suzu glances at the sky. It was slowly changing from dark blue to light blue. And the stars were fading."I only have a little time left. You have to leave tomorrow night. Guests will be showing up and guards will be distracted because of it, so its a good opportunity. And, if you're not gone by the next morning.. Then.."
He stops, looking away."Then?" You question
"Then you will either be forever trapped.. Or dead."
Your eyes widen.
Dead?Suzu glanced up at the sky again, but before you too could look at it, he grasps your shoulders.
"There is a door in the servant kitchen, where you made the soup. The second time you leave, go through there! After the first time you leave, the Prince will-"Your eyes flutter open.
The room is quiet.
Empty and still.Beyond your window, you can still see the moon as it stubbornly hangs onto the sky as morning approaches.
You sit up and rub your eyes.
Your body was still wracked with exhaustion, and on any other morning you would go back to sleep at this time.
But, instead, you slip on your shoes and head to your door.As you walk, you notice that there are no guards.
Or, at least it seemed so.How are you going to get through the main door without being noticed? Surely that would be guarded at least.
Just as you thought of that, you saw a door off to the side. Tucked away like a child's secret.
As you approached it, you noticed a lock on it, that you surely had no key for.And yet again, just as the thought came to mind, a young maid opened the door.
She saw you and flinched, sheepishly stepping aside to let you walk by.Getting through the door, you saw the back alleys. Or at least, the castle equivalent. Other buildings were still quite far, but the front had a far prettier view.
Stepping down the steps, you glance around. Which direction do you need to go?
Main road...
As you think on it, you hear two guards talking to your left, just around the corner.Right!
After a bit of walking, you start seeing carts. Some with animals, some with food & goods, some with travelers.
Storefronts decorated fancifully also began to become more and more common as you walk further along the road..You scan the faces in the crowd, looking for that "Familiar" face.
As you do so, you aren't paying attention to your steps, and you hear a loud Crunch.Glass. You had stepped on a bunch of broken glass.
"I'm sorry!" An elderly woman calls.
"I should have warned you! I wasn't paying attention!"
You try and calm her "Its alright, I wasn't hurt."She looks relieved, but continues to apologize profusely.
"Truly! It's alright. Don't stress. I'll help you sweep it up, if you'd like."
She smiles and thanks you before she turns to her shop, telling you that the brooms are inside. As you look at the store, you now see where all of the glass came from. One of her front glass windows was completely shattered. Though it looked like most of it was on the inside of her shop.
"Here" the old woman says handing you a broom. "The outside should be done first, so nobody can get hurt."
You nod "That makes sense. After all, you can close your shop, but not the walkway.."
The woman chuckles.
Just as you're about to walk out of the front, you hear the crunching of glass behind you. Like footsteps."(Y/N)?!"
You turn to look, and see a familiar figure. One with their hands tied together, and looking a bit more roughed-up then when you last saw them.
Despite their appearance, your eyes widen, and a big, sincere smile spreads over your face."Domi!?"
