Looking around, you couldn't help but feel out of place amongst the fancy decor. Expensive vases and large paintings with intricate golden frames. The drawn curtains were a deep red wine shade, and the material felt like velvet.
You pulled the curtains open, disappointed by the view of the street. But thankfully, your view of the sky was mostly unobstructed.
You watched the clouds waver in the night sky for a bit before sighing deeply. You look back at your luggage and decide to see what all was packed for you. Opening the first box, you we're delighted to see your favorite stuffed animals and books, as well as your favorite tea set and a blanket your grandmother made a for you a few years ago. You smile to yourself as you see a fairly large picture of your family stowed away between your stuffed animals. Picking it up, you immediately knew that you wanted it on your nightstand.
Standing up, you noticed that the medic was looking at a few of the books you had taken from the box, his expression was one of intrigue. He looked up from his inspection of the pages, gazing at you with a look of curiosity. You placed the picture on your bed and walked over, sitting in the floor beside him.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry." You smile and shake your head. "No, no, I don't mind."
The book was a children's story book, with many different tales spread across its pages.
"I've never heard of these before, None of them are familiar at all. I've collected story books from all over the world." He looks at you and smiles "For my daughter. She loves fairytales and old stories."
He turned back to the book, flipping through a few more pages before speaking again. "You're culture is so intriguing, and not much is known about it. This book shows that much. Stories of love between a fairy and a demon, a tale of a Dragon that fostered a little girl, and one of a woman who danced with her reflection." Recalling the stories brought back a wonderful wave of childish nostalgia.
"My favorite has always been about the girl that could heal peoples hearts with her voice." He looked up at you with a small smile, and his eyes seemed to show some form of admiration.
"You can have it if you'd like, for your daughter."
His eyes widen and he stutters for a bit. "I-I simply couldn't! If- I mean, its very generous of you but, such a beautiful piece of culture like this.." He looks down at the book.
"Isn't alright to share something like that? What's the point of keeping it for myself when I could share it with someone who would also enjoy it."
He smiled, closing the book and tracing his finger along the cover.
"Truly, your culture is something of beauty. I couldn't possibly take this from you. But perhaps I could write the stories down for my daughter."
Looking to you for confirmation, he's met with a comforting and friendly smile. "I'd like that- um.."
"Clemente."
"I'd like that, Clemente."You were putting away your clothes as the medic scribbled away, copying down pages into what was once and empty book. Glancing over at him, you take in his appearance. He was wearing a long dark green robe with a rope tied around the waist to keep it closed. His dark drown hair was long, reaching his waist, only tied at the very end with a strip of white cloth. His skin was a dark and smooth, almost clear of blemishes. A tall, thin figure that was mostly consumed by his overly large robe. Hands that seemed as though they were made for writing as well as many delicate tasks, his finger were thin and expressed a sense of tranquility every time he turned a page. His face had soft features, his eyes held a comfort in them, lips that seemed to forever have their edges turned up in the faintest of smiles.
Once you finished putting away all of your clothing, you turned back towards the few boxes that you had not opened.
Not knowing whats inside, You carefully cut the seal on the next box. Opening it, you're met with many personal trinkets and hygiene items.
Your brush, tooth brush, face wash, etc.
There were a few more pictures of your family, which you were happy to see. There was even one of your parents, while your mother was pregnant with you.
You set the framed photos on the bed, not really knowing where to put them. The box also had a few unfamiliar items. Such as a music box, a small chest and a jewelry box. You take them from the box and set them on the bed. You'll look at them once you're done unpacking.
Going through everything, most of your necessary and favorite things were present. You were also happy to see that a few different seeds and starter branches were packed for you. With these, you could make this room feel more like home. You'll have to find a few pots to plant them in though.Setting the now empty boxes aside, you turn back to the items on your bed. You definitely need to think of something to do with all of the photos. Looking around the room, you begin to wonder if it'd be rude to remove the fancy paintings. You place the family photo on the nightstand, as well as the small picture of your parents, the rest you will put up on the wall if you can get the painting taken down.
Glancing at the three separate boxes on your bed, you decided to pick up the jewelry box first. Opening it, you expected to see old family jewelry or perhaps a new locket with a picture in it. But that wasn't it at all. It was full of small gems and tiny coin charms.
These were fairy trinkets.
