The table was alive with chatter and the clanking of silverware.
The boys were berating Grimm with questions and praise, while your grandpa was talking with the Prince.
Your Grandmother was the one sitting next to you, but had remained suspiciously quiet.
"Grandma, are you feeling well?" You ask quietly, not wanting to draw the attention of the boys.
Her voice was soft as she spoke. "Your grandpa means well with what he agreed to, with the Nadrous treaty with Khasm he was just trying to stay in the royal families favor." She sounded a bit sorrowful.
What he agreed to? Does she mean letting the Prince stay here? You weren't upset about that though. Was she unhappy with him being here?
"I don't mind him being here grandma, he may be a little bit-"
"(Y/N)! hun, I gotta get ready for something tomorrow. Would it be alright if I use your room as a study tonight?" You grandfather asks, an empty plate on the table in front of him.
This wasn't unusual. Your room was on the opposite side of the house from the other bedrooms, so its often the best room for when he needs a quiet space to work.
"Sure Grandpa, I'll grab my bedding stuff after I finish eating." You say happily. He tends to work late when he borrows your room, so you've gotten used to sleeping on the couch in the boys room. Honestly, you felt safe there.
"That's alright, I'll put your pillows and blankets on the rocking chair. I have to get started now." He said, getting up from his seat.
"I'll help get the couch comfy for you!" Inui says cheerily.
Your grandfather had already left and was in your room. You were about to thank Inui but the Prince cut in.
"That's alright, she can sleep with me tonight. A bed is better then a couch, after all." He said.
Inui grumbled a bit but didn't say anything. Grandma didn't say anything, and Porri was busy fussing over the mess Domi was making.
Cherri looked at you with a worried expression.
"I-I don't think that's necessary, is it?" He says timidly. The Prince barely even looked at him before he replied. "I'm sorry? Did you say something? Speak up if you have something to say."
Cherri became very nervous and shrunk down in his seat. "I don't think (Y/N) sh-should sleep with you."
The Prince looked at him with a bored expression. "Oh? So you want her to sleep in your room that bad?"
Cherri became quiet, being too shy to bring himself to respond.
You couldn't help but feel like the Prince was bullying Cherri, which was definitely upsetting you.
You unconsciously glared in the Princes direction. He noticed you glaring and seemed a bit surprised by your hostile expression. He stood up and turned away from you, not wanting to see you look at him that way. Grimm took the Princes empty plate.
"Your bath is ready for you upstairs, your highness." Grimm said as he collected all of the empty plates from the table. But your Grandmother was the only one who had not finished eating.
"Are you alright grandma? You've barely eaten." You ask, obviously worried. Was she feeling ill? She smiled wearily "I'm alright dear, just tired from the days events." What did she do today to make her so tired?
You hadn't noticed that Grimm and the Prince had both left, leaving only you, the boys and Granny.
"I think I should go get some rest, and-" she looked over at the boys for a moment "So should you kids."
"Yes ma'am" You all said together.
|(A/N): So short! I'm sorry! I'm working on making them longer.|
