Ship(s): Platonic Moxiety

"Stop trying to save me!" Virgil shouted, clutching his bleeding arms to his chest and glaring at Patton ferociously. The fatherly trait stayed still, arms still extended towards the other, one hand holding a razor he had snatched, expression soft.

"If I don't try, then who will? I care about you too much to let you do this to yourself. Just let me-"

"NO!" Virgil interrupted, eyes blazing. "Stop treating me like I'm something broken that needs to be fixed. I'm a person, not an object!" he continued, lip quivering, eyes brimming with tears.

"I never meant to make you feel that way, Virgil. All I want is for you to realize that we- that I love you. I want you to see how amazing you are, and how important you are to Thomas. Until you see that, I'm going to keep 'trying to save you', as you put it," Patton said firmly. Virgil bit his lip, hard enough to draw blood, and bowed his head.

"I...I-I'm not worth it. Nothing's ever going to change, so you might as well just stop trying. I'm beyond help," Virgil admitted. His words hung heavy in the silent air for a moment as Patton looked at him with a sharp gaze, eyes narrowed.

"No one is ever beyond help. You mean everything to me, and I'm not going to let you do this to yourself anymore." Patton set the razor down before holding his arms out, inviting Virgil in for a hug. The darker trait stared at him for a moment before slowly sinking into his arms, burying his face in his shoulder and returning Patton's embrace loosely.

"I've got you. I promise."
