Roman laid curled up on his bed, picking at the glittery cover of his book of ideas. He was drawing a blank. Nothing was coming. No video ideas, no new plans, no dreams that Thomas could pursue, nothing. Roman felt useless. He sniffled softly and buried his face in the soft, red covers that adorned his bed and allowed himself to softly sob. He couldn't do the one job that he was made to do. He was failing Thomas, Logan, Patton, and....and Virgil...
The thought of seeing Virgil glaring at him, disappointment and hatred boiling in his eyes, made Princey's heart lurch in his chest. he sobbed harder, throwing his notebook across the room and grabbing at his hair, pulling it so hard that it threatened to tear out of his head. He needed something, somebody, he needed....he needed...
"V-Virgil!" Roman found himself choking out. He got to his feet, stumbling across his room to his door, clutching his chest as he threw his bedroom door open. "Virgil, come here! Please!" Roman continued, tears still streaming down his face. He couldn't breathe, he could barely speak, it was too much, he needed Virgil. Roman gasped as he suddenly collided with something strong, but soft, and nearly collapsed to the ground. He blinked, and his lips began to quiver as he saw Virgil looking down at him.
"Roman? Roman, love, what's wrong?" Virgil said, voice bewildered as Roman buried his face in Virgil's chest and twisted the back of Virgil's jackets in his fists. Virgil sighed, guiding Roman to the couch and helping him sit down. Roman stayed curled up in a ball on Virgil's lap, whimpering softly and crying into his shoulder.Virgil's eyes softened and he shifted gently to take off his jacket. Roman moaned softly and tried to grab it, thinking that Virgil was leaving, but he relaxed immediately as Virgil began to carefully put the jacket on him.
"There you go. Is that better, Roman?" Virgil murmured, pressing a kiss to Roman's temple. Roman closed his eyes and nodded. gritting his teeth, shoulders trembling gently.
"T-Thank you. I'm s-sorry if I'm being...being pushy, b-but I just...I needed something," Roman managed, voice small, nothing like his usual boisterous voice. Virgil smiled, resting his head on top of Roman's.
"Don't be sorry. Even princes have bad days sometimes," Virgil said, fighting back tears of his own. Roman let out a choked laugh that sounded more like a sob and buried his face deeper in Virgil's shoulder.
"It's going to be okay. I promise," Virgil whispered. "I promise."
