The strange, green and grey eyes stared at Lord Takeda with unusual intensity. Not for the first time he thought that the owner of such a powerful gaze must be an extraordinary person. A small fist grabbed his finger and pulled on it with some strength. Then the eyebrows furrowed at the resistance.
Hikaru held his daughter in his arms, marvelling again at the perfectness of this little human. She was simply beautiful. He smiled with pride and love. In response the little face also smoothed and the girl smiled back, showing her toothless grin.
"She is perfect." He whispered in awe.
"My Lord, don't let her enchant you." Lottie laughed, teasing. "They will call her a witch."
"It is much too late for the warning, I'm afraid. With those eyes she will be a real heartbreaker. The most beautiful Lady in the land."
"Please, don't let her know that. She will be insufferable."
"With a mother like you she will be the most desired woman ever." He looked at his wife with conviction.
"Beauty is not always a blessing." She warned.
"Then she will have her intellect to fall back to." He smiled again, absolutely happy. "My Lady, I am the most blessed man in Japan. And all of this is thanks to you." He bowed his head. "My beautiful Lady Samurai..."
The End.
