Episode 3:
Napahilot ako sa sentido ko bago umiling-iling. I felt tired.
It's not that I was afraid of the blood. It's just that, somehow, I was feeling concern about her knowing that what she did was not the first time.
"And that woman!" Walang pinipiling oras yung attitude niya. Dapat doon dinidisiplina, eh.
Napapabuntong-hininga na humiga akong muli sa kama ko. Good thing that I didn't have class today or else I will literally force my ass out to move.
"Hungry..." I muttered under my breath.
Yes, sleeping is life but eating is lifer. I opened my door when I was confident enough to leave my room pero ganoon na lang ang gulat ko nang mabungaran ko sa labas ng kwarto ko si Mama at si Papa na akmang kakatok na sana.
"Uhm, good morning?" Patanong na pagbati ko. I was kind of wondering why they're here early in the morning. They're supposed to be at work. "Should I assume that my lovely parents wanted a talk from me?" I asked with humor. My heart melted when I saw them smile. Ah, parents... I love them both. Really.
"You're right, my lovely daughter," Papa said while raising his eyebrows suggestively. "But why don't we eat first?"
Our home was not that big in the first place. Nakakaangat kami sa buhay kahit na papaano but my parents taught me to live in a simple way na hindi ako dedepende sa mga karangyaan sa buhay. Besides, a house with no family was nothing but a plain house. It's not home. I was proud to say that despite of them—working—hindi sila nagkulang sa oras pagdating sa akin.
Though that didn't mean that I should be perfect. I was aware my moods and overflowing sarcasm at times, but that made me human.
"Echo, you listening?"
"Po? Sorry."
"Meron," sagot ni Papa, "I'm asking if it's fine with you kung may makakasama tayong iba rito sa bahay."
Automatic na kumunot ang noo ko. Imagining someone living with us felt...out of place. I was used having less people, kung magkakaroon kami ng ibang kasama, malay ba.
"Echo?"
There's nothing wrong in trying naman. "Why? May makikitira ba?"
"Actually, yes." Mama answered.
Papa squinted his eyes. "Hmm, let's just say na matalik kong kaibigan ang magulang niya."
Tumango lang ako at hindi na nagsalita. Wala naman din akong maisip na sasabihin.
"Matagal na rin namin siyang kino-convince ng Mama mo na manirahan dito kasama natin because she's not really safe living alone." paliwanag niya. So babae pala yung tinutukoy niyang titira kasama namin. "And we're glad that finally, she took our offer."
