Beth relates

What have I done

     I walked home from school with a large sensation of guilt. I shouldn't be dating at 13. After everything that my parents have done for me this is how I return them. I opened the door to see piles of packed boxes.

     "What's going on?," I asked.

     "Just doing some early packing," my mom said with sweat on her brow.

     "We're really moving?," I asked.

     "Beth, we already went over this," my mom said.

     "I know," I said as I walked upstairs.

     I went to a desk to write a song. I have to tell my friends that I'm moving. I have to tell my... my.... my.... boyfriend. A tear shed and fell onto my paper. I need to tell Mom. I need to be honest. She'll be mad but I need to be honest.

      I counted to three and yelled,"MUM!"

     She walked upstairs and went into my room.

     "Is something wrong?"

     "I need to ask you something."

     "Ask away."

     "Can I have a boyfriend?".... it all went silent until my mum finally spoke.

     "You know the rule."

     "But Nick-"

     "Nick was older then you."

     "Actually he wasn't, he has been dating Rebecca since 13." I instantly regretted what I said. Nick would be furious.

     "Beth are you saying the truth."

     "Yes." My mum didn't speak until I asked once again.

     "Can I date?"

     "Are you dating any boys!" my mum said suddenly shouting.

     "Umm.."

     "Answer me!,"

     "Ok fine, I'm dating a boy named Anthony," I said head down.

     "NO GAMES FOR A MONTH!"

     "But-"

     "But you better break up with him tomorrow at school!,"

     "Ok," I said with tears shedding from my eyes.

     "And same with Dominic," said mum.

     "You're making him break up with Rebecca?," I said in shock.

     "Yes."

    "But he's 17 and really loves her."

     "He should have been honest," said my mom as she went over to his room.

     What had I done.
