Y/n pov

We had bought me a new dress, Phil insisted. I don't get why he changed his mind so quickly. I guess its because the other one made him freak out.

We went to Dans apartment so Phil could get his suit. Dan wasnt there, so I guess hed already left at that time. Phil changed into his suit then we headed to the restaurant.

It was a pretty fancy restaurant. It was dimly lit with soft white table cloths on each table. Everyone there was dressed in fancy clothes. I looked over at Phil curiously. He shrugged his shoulders.

"You should look for Dan. See if his here already. Ill text him, okay?" I nodded and looked around what of the restaurant I could see. No sign of Dan.

Phil typed away on his phone. He'd quickly scan the screen then type something out. After a few minutes he looked up at me.

"Dan is here. He said to tell them were with the party of 'Howell' and they'd take us to him." Phil walked up to the podium and talked to the waiter person for a while. He waved to me and I followed them towards the back of the restaurant. In one of the back tables I saw Dan sitting, checking his appearance. The waiter walked us up to the tabled.

"What drink may I get you both?" Phil looked over at me.

"Ill have a water." the waiter scribbled down what I has just said.

"So will I." Phil said looked up at him.

"Alright. Your waiter will be right with you with your drinks." Phil smiled at him then looked over at Dan. Dan smiled widely at us, a small hint of fakeness in it.

"So, why a fancy dinner all of a sudden? Its not a double date, is it? Dan, you know I hate those." Phil whined quietly.

"Nope. Still single over here." Dan remarked with a smile. "I wanted to make plans."

"Like what?"

"Your plans. Like how long you're going to be gone, when you're coming back, when you're planning to be my best friend again." he coughed the last part, doing that thing people do to be 'secretive'. I immediately felt a wave of guilt wave over me.

"Well, I don't know. How ever long I want to be gone. And Im still your best friend, Dan. Your the one who never texts me back. You don't even text me in the first place." Phil took a sip of his water, I hadn't even realized arrived.

"Its not my fault Im busy." Dan said, pouting.

"You're not bu-"

"You guys are going to have to get along." I muttered. They both looked over at me. "Spend a day together and actually act like friends. Not enemies. Im going to go home. Ill cancel my order so you don't have to pay for it." I stood up and started to walk towards the doors.

"Y/n, wait!" I felt Phil grab my wrist, holding me back.

"Hang out with Dan today. Im not saying you can't come back to the apartment." I weakly smiled at him.

"At least have some dinner." Dan said, still sitting at the table. "Im paying tonight and I have enough for you. Hence you were invited."

I slowly walked back over to the table and sat down. "You sure? I can pay for myself."

"Im positive. Just... Enjoy yourself." he smiled at me, the look in his eyes softening from before.

The food came not too long after. We ate with small conversations here and there. After we ate Dan paid for the meals and we all walked out of the restaurant.

"Im going to go home and you two are going to hang out. Im not going to expect Phil home till after 11. Have fun you two." I waved to them as I walked away.

"Bye! Love you!" I heard Phil call to me. I turned around and blew a kiss back to him. They slowly walked in the other direction.
