15 years later
I stood in the longest line in the world, with a black hoodie over my head to hide my face. I was at a Youtube convention waiting anxiously for the line to move. I had found Phil's channel maybe a month after he made it and had watched every single video he uploaded. And I will admit, he's grown since then. And he has a ton of fans. I've been walking around, waiting for the line to move down. It never did so I just decided to stand in line with all the squealing fangirls. Sure, I was excited, but I was also nervous. What if he didn't remember me? What if he completely moved on? These thoughts were interrupted by a voice.
"Hey, you look familiar. Do I know you from somewhere?" I turned to see Robert standing there with a smile. (You can change the person if you want.)
"Robert!" I hugged him tightly. He ducked under the rope to stand beside me.
"Did you have a table here?" did I forget to say I have a channel too?
"No. I just came to see people." I fixed the hood, seeing as it was slipping down.
"So Dan and Phil are on your list of visits? I would have waited for them for last." he said as he leaned against one of the poles.
"I did! But the line kept getting longer so I gave up on that. But I still cant help feel that im going to miss my chance."
"Your chance at what?"
"Well... I was a friend of one of them a while ago. We probably would be still if I didn't have to move to Australia." I muttered.
"How did you find him on Youtube? I mean, its pretty big."
"One of his videos popped up in the recommended. And I thought he looked familiar and when I clicked on it I found out why." I looked down to the ground, hiding my face as I saw people wearing my merch walk past.
"So... were you and which ever one just friends?" Robert intrigued.
"Ya. I guess." I felt myself blushing so I continued to look down. "And im Phil's friend by the way."
"Well, nice to meet you. Im Robert." he smiled at me as he held out his hand.
"I already know that." I said with a laugh.
We both started laughing. Once it calmed down he asked a semi- serious question. "So.... What are you going to do? Are you just gonna go up and say 'hey im y/n. Your long lost friend.'?"
"I actually don't know. Im just going to see how it plays I guess. I just hope he remembers me from when we were younger and not from Youtube." I bit my lip as I thought of all the possible outcomes."Well, I should probably be getting back. Bye y/n!"
"Bye Robert!" I called after him.
As soon as he left my early worries came back. As I came closer to their table, their faces in view, I realized I couldn't turn back now. I felt my heart beat about a million times a second as I stood the next one in line. As I heard Dan say next I took a deep breath and walked up to the table. I kept my face hidden, still scared of what would happen.
"Hi!" I heard Phil's upbeat voice say. My heart skipped a beat as I looked up at his beaming face.
"H-hi." I sheepishly muttered out.
"Come on. Don't be shy." Dan told me.
"I wouldn't say im shy. I would say im more scared." I mustered out as I looked over at Dan.
"There's no need to be scared either. We don't bite." Phil said, taking my hand.
I quickly flinched away. "T-that's not why im scared. Im scared because I know one of you on a personal basis but I don't know if they remember me." I looked away, hiding my face again.
I saw them both look at each other then back to me. "Would you be less scared if we got a picture?" Dan asked.
"Maybe. Im not sure." I took my phone out and got it to the camera. I handed it to Dan and slowly took down my hood. I beamed a smiled at the camera, hiding my true emotions, as he took the picture. as soon as he took it he turned to me.
"Have I met you before? I feel like I've seen you somewhere. Do you recognize her Phil?" Dan looked up at Phil. I turned around to face him, face to face, for the first time in years.
His mouth was slightly opened and his eyes were widened as he looked down at me. "y/n?"
"Hi Phil. I found you." I shyly smiled up at him, sliding my hands in my pocket. He tightly hugged me and I slowly returned it.
"Oh my god its been so long! I cant believe you're actually here!"
"I know right! I actually used most of my paycheck to buy the trip!" Phil let me go, but kept hold of my shoulders.
"Look at you. You've grown so much!"
"I've grown so much? Look at you! You're practically a giant now!" he laughed and hugged me again.
"I've missed you, you know that?"
"I've missed you too." we stood there for a moment just hugging, just like at the airport 15 years ago. And it was once again interrupted by someone yelling at us.
"Excuse me, but the rest of us have kind of been waiting for a while so we'd really appreciate it if she could just move on." I turned away from Phil and looked at the girl who just said it. she looked pretty snotty and spoiled....
"Excuse me, but im kinda having a moment with my best friend that I haven't seen for ages so Id really appreciate it if you backed off." I copied her tone then turned to Phil. "But honestly, I probably have taken up alot of your time. I best be on my way."
"Wait, no! You're fine. Really." Phil said, trying to keep me there.
"Ill give you my new number and you can call me when your free and we could maybe go to Starbucks or somewhere?" he nodded sadly as I wrote down my number for him. "Just call or text, alright?" he nodded and gently put the piece of paper in his pocket.
"Aww, cant I get a hug?" Dan whined.
"Alright." I walked over and hugged Dan. "See you both later?" Dan nodded and Phil smiled.
"Ill text you." Phil said, his eyes shining. I nodded and walked away probably feeling a little too excited about our meet up.
