It was now Monday and Barry and Caitlin were currently making out against the wall in the hallway of Star Labs. They were both too lost in the kiss to hear the footsteps coming their way.

"What the-" a voice exclaimed making them jump apart. They both looked at the person who caught them and blushed.

"Heyyy Cisco" they said in unison.

Cisco blinked several times before smiling "YES!" He shouted in glee raising a fist in the air. "Oh I knew you two love birds would come around! I knew it! Now let's go over the ground rules to this new relationship. You guys can share the occasional kiss but I don't want to see any of that frisky stuff. I'll let that one kiss slide cause I'm just so happy." Cisco finished smiling.

Barry and Caitlin started laughing whilst still holding each other against the wall.

"Well carry on-but not too much!" Cisco warned walking off. "I SHIP IT!" He yelled one final time.

Caitlin burst out laughing again. "Okay, I think he's more excited about our relationship than we are." She giggled.

"Definitely" Barry said also laughing, "Have I ever told you how much I love your laugh?"

Caitlin pretended to think about it "Once or twice" she said with a cute smirk.

"Well then I'll say it again...I love your laugh... in fact, I think I want to hear it again right now" As he said that, he started tickling her sides making her laugh like crazy.

"B-Barry stop it!" She laughed some more. She tried to break free from his grip, but he was too strong.

After a minute or two, he finally released his grip on her but still holding her waist.

"Yep, love that laugh" he teased.

Caitlin glared playfully at him "you know...you tortured me so that means I'm just going to have to torture you." She replied half teasingly half seductively.

"How so Ms. Snow?" He asked.

She sighed before leaning up, "I have my ways" she whispered before kissing him again.

"Guys! Sorry to interrupt your love bubble or whatever but Vortex is back! Get in here!" Cisco's voice rang out through the building.

Barry looked at Caitlin worriedly before grabbing her hand and leading her into the cortex.

"Where is he Cisco?" Barry asked.

"News reports are saying a speedster is wreaking havoc downtown." Cisco replied.

"Okay you two stay hear and I'll go take care of him." They both nodded and Barry turned to Caitlin "Don't go anywhere ok? And be careful"

"I will Barry. You be careful as well. This guy is dangerous."

Barry nodded and pecked her lips and flashed out of there with his suit. As he was running, he couldn't help but feel nervous and angry. He can't let Cait get hurt again. Never again. Barry turned the corner and was face to face with Vortex once again.

"Flash, I see you were reunited with your high school sweetheart. It's too bad I'm going to have to kill her...and make sure she stays dead." He sneered.

"Don't you dare touch her!" Barry boomed. He ran towards Vortex and slammed him against the wall. He started to speed punch him all over.

Vortex got free from his grip and started to run throughout the city, Barry trailing behind him.

Cisco! Cisco you there? How do I beat this guy?" Barry panted.

"I don't know! Uh-Caitlin?"

"Barry try to throw lightning at him" Caitlin spoke.

Barry took a shortcut to where he thought Vortex would run next. He started running around in circles and when Vortex came directly in front of him he threw the bolt of lightning straight at him. But he absorbed it.

Barry stood there shocked. "You guys saw that right?"

Caitlin and Cisco were just as shocked to see what happened. "It was like he absorbed the energy and it became a part of him." Caitlin said to Cisco.

Vortex then ran head on to Barry, lightning crackling all around his body. The electricity scorched Barry and he screamed and fell to the ground in pain.

"BARRY!" Caitlin screamed.

Vortex ran to Star Labs and held Caitlin by the neck. Barry could hear her choking through the comms.

"Are you hearing this Flash? Cause if you are, know this. The only reason I am keeping your precious doctor and your other friend alive is because they are the only ones who can help you be what I need you to become." He hissed through his mask.

He then dropped Caitlin on the ground and sped off. Barry flashed into the cortex and instantly hugged Caitlin.

"I'm so sorry" he whispered to both of them.

It seems every time that Vortex comes...he's just not fast enough.

Later that day, Caitlin and Barry were in Caitlin's apartment cuddling on her bed.

Caitlin was still a little shaken up from the whole thing, but she was trying to be strong. For Barry's sake.

Barry noticed this and he loved her for being so strong, but he didn't want her to bottle up the emotions she might be feeling. After all, she probably got more hurt than he did. Emotionally that is.

"I don't know if you noticed, but I would always wear those red outfits everyday for you. You know before we were back together." Caitlin spoke trying to lighten the mood. However she couldn't help but blush a little at her confession.

Barry smirked lightly, "Ya I definitely noticed. Although I didn't think you were doing it intentionally. You looked good in that color though."

Caitlin blushed even more. She didn't think he actually noticed. She did catch him staring at times, but she thought it was all in her head.

"What happened today was not your fault...you do know that right?" Caitlin asked.

"Yes it was Cait. I'm never fast enough to save you guys. He could have really hurt you this time. Worse than the last time." Barry sighed.

"Barry don't be so hard on yourself. We will figure out a way to stop him before he hurts someone else." Caitlin assured him.

He smiled softly, "Your the best you know that?"

"I try" she joked.

Caitlin snuggled more into him and soon they both were lulled to sleep by each other's soft breaths.
