"Is this...fire?" Natsu thought as he tried to hold his ground and not get blown back. The black fire tore at his skin, creating small gashes and cuts. "If it is then..."
Hayden froze as his black flames had started being sucked in. Everyone in the guild thought that Natsu would be at full strength to fight back. But Esme and Kage were terrified. Natsu swallowed up the fire, then started to cough and stagger. He fell onto his knees, struggling to breathe. "Whats wrong? What happened?" Gray asked confused. "Natsu!" Happy called out in panic.
On his stomach, his skin had started to turn black. It slowly spread out, creeping up his chest and around his sides. "ESME!" Hayden shouted as he jumped off the roof and ran towards Natsu. Esme nodded and did the same. They both pinned Natsu's arms to the ground, forcing him to lay on his back. The guild were about to run towards them but stopped when Kage walked passed them. "Don't." He said in a calm yet stern voice. "I need room." He stated. "What is going on!? I demand to know!" Erza yelled at the pale boy. Kage didn't answer and walked towards Natsu. "Give me to order Hayden." He said as he approached them. "SHADOW DRAGON TAKE OVER!" Hayden shouted.
A black magic circle had formed under Kage. His body glowed a bright white until you couldn't see his features. Then it started to change, growing bigger and bigger. What look like a tail had grew from behind the being and wings sprouted from its back. It neck had grew long with horns growing from its head. Then the light shattered apart like glass to reveal what it had form.
There, the guild stood in shock, as a giant black smist-like dragon stood looming over Natsu and the two new members. "A dragon take over?" Wendy muttered in shock. "Such a thing isn't heard of." Carla added. Makarov just watched in silence. Kage leaned his head closer to Natsu, then opened his mouth. Hayden noticed that Natsu's teeth were clentched shut in pain, so he nodded to Esme. Esme nodded back, and sent an electric shock through Natsu. Natsu screemed out, just as they wanted. As soon as his mouth was open, the black flames he had mistakenly swallowed shot out from inside him and was now being sucked up and contain inside Kage's dragon form.
The guild had made their way closer, but still kept a good distance from them. "It looks like they're extracting what Natsu swallowed earlier." Gray said.
Hayden watched as the black on Natsu's skin decreased back towards his stomach until disappearing completely. "Thats enough!" He shouted up to Kage who then shut his mouth and lifts his head up again. Esme and Hayden let go of Natsu who was now panting and taking deep breathes. Filling up his lungs with air that had been cut off from him.
It was only when Kage turned back to his normal form that the guild ran over to them. "Who is the healer?" Esme asked. "I am!" Wendy called out. "Help me get him to the infermery. He needs to rest." Wendy nodded and they both helped a staggering and tired Natsu back inside.
The guild was quiet. They watched Hayden and Kage closey, wanting to ask what just happened but were honestly scared to approach them. Esme and Wendy were still in the back room keeping an eye on Natsu.
Hayden was eating something that he ordered from Mira and Kage, who had now taken the form of a black cat, was sleeping in his lap. Makarov, who had just come back from checking up on Natsu, had now walked up to the two of them. "So, may I ask what exactly happened out there?" The guild listened intently.
"As you are aware, I am a Shadow Dragon Slayer. My magic is different from Natsu's who is a Fire Dragon Slayer. He must have thought what he was eating was a type of fire but it wasn't." Hayden started. He raked his fingers through Kage's fur making the other purr in content.
