"Hello Mira!" Esme greeted as she took her usual spot at the bar. "Hello Esme! How have you been? I see your stomach has gotten a bit bigger."
"It has! I'm starting to wobble when I walk now!"
"Actually, I wanted to ask you something." Mira said with a concerned look.
"What is it?"
"Well, Pantherlily came to me not to long ago asking if I knew when Kage's birthday was. When I told him that I didn't he wanted me to ask Hayden. But Hayden seemed just as lost."
"Kage's birthday?" Esme question. Suddenly, her eyes widened and he slammed her hands on the bar as she jumped forward. "KAGE'S BIRTHDAY!" That caught everyone's attention.
"What about Kage's birthday?" Gray asked. "Is it coming up or something?"
"I don't know!" Esme yelled, turning around to face everyone else. "I don't know when Bubba's birthday is!"
"Huh?!" Natsu spoke up. "What the hell is that? He's your brother ain't he?"
"Of course he is! But I just realized that we've never celebrated it before! So we don't know when it is!" Esme suddenly started crying dramatically. "My poor Bubba! He probably felt so left out when me and Hayden celebrated ours!"
"Well why don't we just ask him?" Lucy offered. Right on cue, Kage walked through the Guild doors with his hands in his jacket pockets and the usual bored look on his face. "Kage!" Lucy called to the short boy making him pause as she walked up to them.
The group watched as Lucy said something which apparently made Kage tilt his head like a confused puppy. Everyone inwardly 'awed' at that. Kage then shrugged and continued towards his table and Lucy came back to the bar.
"Well?" Esme asked. Lucy sighed and shook her head. "He doesn't even know."
Happy scoffed. "He doesn't know when his own birthday is?"
Esme started crying again. "It's our fault! We forgot so many times that now even HE doesn't know anymore!"
"Now now, this isn't that big of a deal. If Kage doesn't have a birthday then why don't we give him one?" Erza offered making Esme look at her. "Give him one?"
Lucy clapped her hands together happily. "That's a great idea! Why don't we do it today!"
"I think you guys are forgetting something." Gray spoke up. "Kage doesn't seem like the one to care for birthdays. I mean, he hates parties, doesn't he?"
"Then we won't make it a party!" Mira said with a smile. "We can just have a small Barbecue!"
"BARBECUE?!" Natsu and Happy yelled out in excitment. Their mouths drooling at the idea.
"And we can dress him up again!" Lucy offered as she grabbed Esme's hands. They both squealed a little at the idea. "I don't think the Guild will be able to handle that." Mira said with a small smile.
"I'll take him out and distract him while you guys get everything ready!" Lucy offered.
"Could I take the job of destracting him? I believe it's my turn to spend time with him." Erza asked.
"Sure!"
Kage was sat at his table with Lily in his arms as he listened to some story Gajeel was telling when Erza walked up to them looking a bit to excited. "Ka-I mean...Mr. Valdis!" Kage smirked and sat up a bit. "I wish to ask you if you would accompany me today. I wish to go shopping and I want someone to go with me."
"And you want me because...?" Kage questioned her.
"Are you implying that I must explain myself?"
