"Mira!" Esme yelled out, dragging a blushing Hayden with her. "Hayden wants to go on a date with you but he's to embarrassed to ask you." She stated. "E-Esme!" Hayden stuttered out. Mira let out a giggled and smiled brightly at them. "I would love to go on a date with Hayden!"
Hayden's face suddenly lit up in a smile as he grabbed her hand and ran out of the guild with a laughing Mira.
"It's about time those two made it official!" Esme said with her hand on her hips. "Yah. You're one to talk." Kage muttered from his spot at the bar.
(~Time Skip~)
"I can't take it anymore! All this sexual tension between them is driving me up the wall!" Hayden exclaimed as he watched Esme and Laxus taking in the corner of the Guild. Yesterday Esme had helped him finally go out with Mira and today they had officially come out as a couple. But now Hayden is tired of watching Esme blush and fidget as she talked with Laxus. "If she can just up and ask Mira out for me then she should be able to just up and ask Laxus out!" He stated. Kage rolled his eyes and yawned. "Why not set them up on a date?" Lucy offered. Hayden turned to the blonde sat across from him. "Set them up?"
"Yah! Like, trick them into going on a date with eachother! Invite them to the same place without the other knowing and let them take it from there!"
"That's....actually not a bad plan." Hayden said as started to think while Lucy had a proud look on her face. "Getting Esme to meet up at a dinner place won't be hard. But I can't say the same for Laxus. Unless...." Hayden suddenly turned to the sleeping bird purched on his shoulder with a big smile. "Kage!" Hayden called out. Kage jumped a bit as he opened his eyes to glare at Hayden."What?"
"We're gonna set Esme and Laxus up on a date! Can you convince Laxus to meet you at that restaurant on our street?"
"Sure." Kage said with a bored tone as he flew up to the S-Class bored where Laxus was standing and Hayden got up to talk to Esme who had moved to the bar to talk to Mira.
"Yo Sparky!" Kage called out. Laxus turned and saw a bird fly up to him only to turn into Kage and stand next to him. "I need you to meet me at the Firth of Mirth later tonight."
"The restaurant? Why?"
"The reason isn't important right now."
"No way. I'm busy. You shouldn't be up here anyway, this floor is for S-Class wizards only. You'll get in trouble with the Master."
"So you're saying No?" Kage asked, ignoring his warning. Laxus nodded and turned back to look at the Quest Board. He missed the evil smile that spread a crossed Kage's face.
"You want to meet me at Firth of Mirth tonight?" Esme asked her brother. "Yah! It's been awhile since we hung out!"
"Ok! I'll be there! I'll go home right now to get ready!" Esme exclaimed happily as she got up and ran out of the Guild. Mira and Hayden turned to see Kage walked down the steps of the S-Class floor and heading towards them. "What did Laxus say?"
"He said no" Kage stated with a shrug and took a seat at the bar. "No?! But I've already talked to Esme and-!"
"Dont worry about it! He'll be there." Kage cut him off.
"But you just said-"
"Hayden." Kage cut him off again. "He'll be there."
(~Time Skip~)
Esme stood outside the restaurant with a smile, waiting for her brother. The sun had gone down a while ago and it was almost time for him to show up. "Esme? What are you doing here?" A voice asked. Esme turned and saw Laxus standing there giving her a confused look. Something clicked in her mind and she suddenly loathed her brother. "Let me guess, Hayden told you to come?"
"No. The sadist did. I told him No at first but...let's just say he knew some things." Laxus explained.
"So Kage Blackmailed you? They must have teamed up." Esme seethed. She sighed and looked up at the Lightning Dragon Slayer with a small smile. "Well, since we're here, you wanna go in?" Laxus shrugged but agreed and they both walked in to the restaurant.
Afterwards, Laxus walked Esme home and they both stood on the doorstep. "Thanks for hanging out with me Laxus! And I'm sorry about my baby brother."
"It's alright. I should have expected it. My fate was sealed the moment I refused him."
Esme giggled but cut herself off went she felt a finger gently brush against her cheek and moved to tuck her hair behind her ear. She looked up to Laxus who leaned down and brushed their lips together. Esme closed her eyes and gripped his shirt as he kissed her. "Awe~ isn't that cute." A voice drawled out. The two quickly jumped apart and look around but didn't see anyone.
"I'm down here ya lovebirds." They looked down and noticed a black and blonde cat with a blue collar sat on the ground next to them and smirking. "Kage! How long have you been sat there?!" Esme squealed with embarrassment. "The whole time!" The sadist chirped.
"I-I better get going. But I'll see you tomorrow Esme." Laxus said. "Yah! You too!" Esme yelled out as he left. She shot a glare at the chuckling cat below her. "I hate you boys so much right now."
"No you don't."
