"Another mission? Didn't you just go on one?" Esme asked as she cleaned up the dishes left over from breakfast.
"We need the money."
"We have enough to last a month before you need to go out again! You don't need to leave so soon!"
Laxus put on his coat and walked up to the door. "I'll get it done as quick as I can then come back. It's only a monster milling mission after all."
Esme sighed as she heard the front door close. She understood why he's like this. He just wants to make sure that they'd have enough to support the baby that's due soon. But he needs to realized that they have enough and just stay home.
She's pregnant after all....she just wants her lover to there with her.

Kage sat in Gajeel's bed and stared out the window. He was still wrapped in bandages and hadn't left the apartment after the fire. Everyone had already come to visit him so now he just had to get better. Lucky for him, he didn't get sick this time.
It had started to rain outside. He watched the raindrops race eachother on the window out of boredom.
Kage sighed as he glared out the window. He usually loved the rain. But he was just so bored that he was in a foul mood.
A bird slammed against the window making him jump. He quickly opened it and picked the bird up. "What the hell are doing flying around out there?!" He scolded it. "It's practically a storm out there!"
Despite how tired the little blue Jay was, it still looked up at Kage and started to frantically chirp and tweet as if it was ranting. "Woah, woah. Slow down, I can't understand you when you talk that fast."
Suddenly a bunch of other birds had flown in through the left open window and started chirping frantically.
Kage's eyes widened when he figured out what they were all trying to tell him.
~~~
Esme was knelt in the hall, crying and in pain. She gripped her stomach as she took short breathes. A loud screeching roar was heard outside, circling around her house. Then suddenly, something big started banging on the front door.
Esme watched the door from her spot in the hall. The door was broken down and in tumbled a large Owl Griffin.
"Bubba!" Esme called in relief.
Kage turned back into human form and ran up to Esme. She could tell that he had left Gajeel's apartment in a hurry. He was still shirtless and his bandages were soaked and coming undone. Esme could see the irritated burns underneath. "Bubba! Your still wounded!"
"I'll live!" Kage shouted in frustration and he helped her off the floor and toward her bedroom.
"Do you even know what to do?" Esme asked as she layed down on the bed.
"I help out animals sometimes! I know enough!"
~~~
Esme woke up the next day to some chirping. She looked around the room for a bit unil she saw the cradle in the corner that a female deer was looking into.
Wait....
Esme looked around and noticed all the animals in her room. Birds were pirched in different places and cats and dogs were sleeping on the floor. There was a pair of rabbits curled up next to her and a male and female deer were hanging out around the cradle.
"Ah. You're awake." Kage spoke as he walked into her room.
"What's with all the animals?"
"They wanted to see the baby."
Esme's eyes widened as she suddenly remembered what had happened yesterday. "Where are they?! Is the baby alright?!"
"Calm down. The baby is sleeping now." Kage said, gesturing to the cradle in the corner. "Ivy has been watching him. She's due soon as well so I guess it's motherly instincts." Esme assumed that Ivy was the female deer's name.
"Can I see him? My boy?"
Kage nodded and stood up. He walked over to cradle and picked up the small bundle inside then gave it to Esme.
She sat up a little and held the tiny child in her arms. "Hello little boy. My baby boy." She spoke softly, crying a little. A cat ran in a said something to Kage that made him get up and start heading towards the door. "Is something wrong?" She asked.
Kage shook his head. "No. Laxus is on his way and I'd rather meet up with him then have him start yelling about the door and waking up the baby." Then he left.
Laxus walked up to his home and immediately noticed that the door had been broken down. He was about to run in when Kage walked out. "What happened?! Is Esme alright?!"
"Shush! Esme's fine." Kage scolded him and started to whisper-yell. "What the hell is wrong with you?! What idiot leaves his pregnant wife alone?!"
"We needed more money!"
"You could have worried about that AFTER the baby was born! You're lucky that I have eyes and ears all over Magnolia!" A bird landed on Kage's shoulder when he said that. "Now, I want you to shut up and be gental."
"Wha-"
"Do you want to see your son?"
Laxus froze. His son? Esme had given birth when he was gone? He nodded slowly and Kage led him into the house. It was almost like a dream when Laxus entered Esme's bedroom.
It was lit up in a warm golden glow from the morning sun. Animals were huddled near the bed to look at the baby that Esme was holding. The animal parted when Laxus walked over and knelt next to the bed.
"You're home." Esme stated with a soft smile.
"I shouldn't have left."
"It's ok. You're here now. That's what matters."
"What are we gonna name him?"
"Tsukishima Dreyar....Tsukki for short."
